Jason Kelce, the legendary Philadelphia Eagles center, has one Super Bowl ring to his name, and he recently revealed that it’s forever lost due to a rather ridiculous stunt. During a live episode of the “New Heights” podcast at the University of Cincinnati, Kelce decided to use his cherished Super Bowl 52 ring as part of a game. Little did he know that this decision would lead to an unexpected adventure.

One Super Bowl ring no more for Jason Kelce

The game in question was a chili tub scavenger hunt. Participants had to dig through an inflatable pool filled with chili to find a sock containing the Super Bowl ring. Yes, you read that correctly—Kelce’s prized possession was submerged in chili! The recently-retired Eagles legend shared on the podcast that he legitimately lost the ring during the event, and people were still searching in the pools for it.

Kelce maintained a good sense of humor about the situation, even jokingly blaming “Jets Jake,” the last person who saw the ring. In an ironic twist, the game was initially set up as a gag about how many times Kelce had lost the Super Bowl ring in the past. He had previously admitted to losing it twice, which makes this chili tub mishap all the more memorable.

Despite the loss, Kelce plans to have another ring made. His Super Bowl victory came during the Eagles’ thrilling 41-33 win over the New England Patriots on February 4, 2018. The 36-year-old Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL on March 4, 2024, after a remarkable 13-year career with the Eagles, during which he was a six-time All-Pro first-team selection
