Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion during the game between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills that kicked off Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season. The quarterback left the game in the third quarter on his own two feet and has surprisingly been supported by the opposing team’s fans.

ESPN reported that The Tua Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to help youth and other charitable causes, has received over 1,000 donations to raise nearly $18,000 since the Dolphins-Bills game, mainly from the Buffalo area.

The Miami quarterback’s foundation was established in February 2021, at the end of his first season in the NFL. Its goal is to support causes in South Florida, Alabama, and Hawaii. In August of that same year, he made a donation to cover funeral expenses from a car accident in Alabama.

In 2023, he donated over $100,000 and 25 laptops to support the Maui population after the big fire on the Hawaiian Island. In addition, this year, he was in charge of donating a flag football field to Pinecrest Elementary School.

Bill's Mafia donations

Bills fans are some of the best in the NFL. They support their team’s players and reach out to all players in the league and their causes.

This is the second time Buffalo fans have donated to Tagovailoa’s foundation following his concussion in December 2022.

Another rival player supported by Buffalo fans was Nick Chubb, who received donations following the injury that ended his season in 2023.
