How does Micah Parsons know Ceedee Lamb will return to Dallas Cowboys for NFL Week 1?
The Cowboys’ defensive star is certain that his teammate will be there when the 2024-25 NFL season begins, suggesting he knows something others don’t.
With the start of the 2024-25 NFL season fast approaching, there may be an end in sight for the contractual feud between the Cowboys and their star wide receiver. Indeed, teammate and defensive stalwart Micah Parsons appears to be very sure of it.
Ceedee Lamb banks on Micah Parsons staying
While there has been a great deal of back and forth, the reality remains that the Dallas Cowboys and star wide receiver Ceedee Lamb have not agreed on a contract extension. As you would likely have seen in our previous report, the All-Pro pass catcher continues to hold out of training camp as he seeks a new deal. Yet, if Lamb’s teammate Micah Parsons is to be believed, Cowboys fans have nothing to worry about. Indeed, Parsons promised on Tuesday that Lamb will be on the field in Week 1.
“Obviously we miss him,” Parsons said per DallasCowboys.com. “He’s one of the best people you can have in a locker room. I’m pretty sure he’ll be here soon. ...CeeDee is a part of this brotherhood whether he likes it or not. He knows he’s not going anywhere. The business side, they’re gonna take care of it, no doubt about it. On Week 1, he will be suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys.” To be clear, Parsons has no role in the negotiations, however, he did state that he has been in contact with Lamb who has yet to attend training camp.
At any rate, what would be safe to assume is that Lamb is not going to accept anything less than a massive deal if he is to stay in Dallas, and even more so after he and franchise owner, Jerry Jones, seemingly had a less-than-pleasant back-and-forth over the state of negotiations via social media. Then, there is also the state of the market which is to say several wide receivers in the league have secured lucrative extensions so far this offseason including Justin Jefferson ($35 million), A.J. Brown ($32 million), and Amon-Ra St. Brown ($30 million).
With figures like that being thrown around, one has to imagine that a player of Lamb’s status will have no interest in taking anything less, especially when we consider the kind of numbers that he produced this past season. Consider for a moment, that the 25-year-old led the NFL in catches with 135 while posting a career-high 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns this past season. Ultimately, there is still no official word on how this is going to play out, but Micah Parsons appears to know the answer already.
