Rams - Lions live online: stats, scores and highlights | NFL Wild Card Weekend

While there is a major talking point in the form of the Lions’ former quarterback returning to play against the team, there is no way to avoid the other one which is the price of entry for Sunday’s game. It’s not cheap, to say the least.

Lions vs Rams tickets are at a record-high

On Sunday night, the Detroit Lions will welcome the Los Angeles Rams to Ford Field. That in itself is worth mentioning for two reasons specifically. Firstly, it will mark the first time that the Lions are playing in a playoff game in their home stadium since it opened back in 2002. The second is the fact that the team will have to deal with the Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback, Matthew Stafford, a player who spent 12 years playing with the Lions (2009 - 2020).

Now, as you can imagine, the demand for tickets is extremely high, however, what you probably didn’t know is that ticket prices for Sunday’s game are the most expensive for a Wild-Card game ever recorded according to TickPick, an online marketplace for event tickets. Earlier this week the “get-in” price for the Lions vs Rams game was $571 which if you’re wondering, is 48% more expensive than the next-most expensive game this weekend i.e., the Cowboys vs Packers which has been listed at $293. To be clear, the average price for the Lions’ date with the Rams is $801. Regarding the cheapest ticket, SeatGeek has listed it at $598 including fees.

When was the last time the Lions were in the playoffs?

That would be back in 1993, when the team suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Green Bay Packers while playing at the Pontiac Silverdome. The last time the Lions won a playoff game, however, was in 1991 and that was in fact the first time they did so since the championship they won back in 1957. Of course, much has changed in recent years such that fans will have good reason to feel positive about the team’s chances this year. With a record of 12-5 and the No. 3 seed, the Lions are favored over the Rams who are 10-7 and currently ranked 6th. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. this Sunday. Don’t miss it.
