Jayden Daniels was a doubt for tonight’s game against the Bears, with the Washington Commanders’ rookie quarterback having injured his ribs in his last game out against the Panthers, being unable to finish that match.

However he was fit in time and produced one of the plays for the ages, when he threw a 52-yard Hail Mary on the final play of the game that was tipped into the end zone by a defender, where Noah Brown picked it up to score and give the Commanders the win.

How much does Jayden Daniels make?

Daniels was the number two overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He signed a fully guaranteed four-year contract worth $37.75 million. The deal includes a signing bonus of $24.27 million.

Here’s a detailed look at the breakdown of Daniels’ salary and bonuses:

2024: Base salary of $795,000, with an additional prorated portion of the signing bonus, bringing his total to about $6.86 million.

2025: Base salary increases to $960,000, along with a roster bonus of $2.51 million, pushing his total to $8.58 million.

2026: Salary and bonuses bring his total to approximately $10.29 million.

2027: His final year sees his total rise to $12.01 million, with a base salary of $1.19 million plus his prorated signing bonus and a $4.75 million roster bonus.

The Commanders also hold a fifth-year option, allowing them to extend his rookie contract through 2028 if desired. This option is standard for first-round picks and offers flexibility, especially if Daniels performs well early on.

Given the trend of escalating quarterback salaries, Daniels may be eligible for an extension after three seasons, potentially locking in a lucrative, long-term deal if he proves himself as a franchise quarterback. Tonight certainly won’t have hurt his chances.
