How the tables have turned: Chiefs player slams Super Bowl referees for “touchy calls”
The Chiefs were stomped all over by the Eagles on Sunday to lose their shot at a Super Bowl three-peat, but one player put the blame elsewhere.

The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 on Sunday to win Super Bowl LIX and ruin the Chiefs' two-year Super Bowl win streak. All throughout the regular season, the Chiefs kept finding ways to win, despite having several close games.
The Super Bowl, however, was not a close game. The Chiefs never even came close to catching up with Philly. Another trend throughout the season for the Chiefs was calls going in their favor. In fact, they were widely criticized for it to the point that there were conspiracies that the NFL was giving them preferential treatment. That was also clearly not the case on Sunday.
DeAndre Hopkins: “A lot of touchy calls”
After getting questioned about the NFL officials showing favoritism to the Chiefs all season long, you would think the players would be tired of the topic. But wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins still had something to say after the final whistle.
“I saw a lot of things in the media about the refs, but obviously, what y’all gonna say now about the refs and us?” Hopkins said to reporters. “When there was a lot of touchy calls... Are y’all gonna report that? Are y’all gonna talk about the refs now?”

Even if the referees had favored the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, it couldn’t have saved them. The Chiefs were held scoreless until the final 45 seconds of the third quarter, with a score of 34-0. And that wasn’t thanks to “touchy calls” on the Eagles either.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was sacked a career-high six times and threw two interceptions. Their offensive line was dominated by the Eagles defense, led by rookie Cooper DeJean. In the end, the Chiefs were given seven penalties for 75 yards and the Eagles were given eight for 59 yards. It’s definitely not what hurt them, but I guess the Chiefs are still feeling bitter after the heartbreaking loss.
The first time Patrick Mahomes has ever had a pick 6 in a playoff game?
