The NFL returns on Thursday night as the Jacksonville Jaguars and the and the Las Vegas Raiders square of in the Hall of Fame Game from Canton.
It’s so close we can almost touch it. We have waited long enough, and on Thursday night it’s finally here. Football is back! The annual Hall of Fame Game will kick off the four week long preseason slate as the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders go to toe as we welcome back football in our lives.

The Jags are coming off of another season in which they finished bottom of the league. It was a bumpy season for then rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and the rest of the Jacksonville franchise. Head coach Urban Meyer was fired after Week 13 as a result of various off the field issues.
Doug Pederson is the man in charge on the sidelines coming into this season, and will look to bring the success he had in Philadelphia with the Eagles to the sunny skies of Florida. The Jags have had the top pick in the last two drafts going offense and then defense. While QB Trevor Lawrence won’t suit up, we will get a first glimpse at this year’s number 1 overall pick Travon Walker.
Vegas coming off of first playoff run
The Raiders had a brilliant start to their 2021 campaign, but faded during the middle of the season after their coach, Jon Gruden was fired and WR Henry Ruggs III charged with a felony DUI after a fatal car accident in November of last year.
Las Vegas still made the playoffs, but will be looking to go a step further and fight for a spot in the AFC Championship. First they will have to make it out of the AFC West which was the best division in football last year, and has only got better with the addition of Russell Wilson in Denver. The front office brought in some added ammunition for QB Derek Carr, who will have former Green Bay receiver Davante Adams as his top target. Don’t expect to see too much of either of them, if at all, tonight. The first preseason games of a teams schedule are more reserved for fringe guys who are looking for a spot on the team.
The game will kick off a full weekend in Canton, Ohio as the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 will be inducted into football’s most elite of clubs. The Enshrinement will take place at noon ET on Saturday the 6th of August.

The game will be played in the same stadium as the the Enshrinement ceremony as the Hall of Fame game will commence the weekend long festivities.
