On Monday, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott took part in the Tight End University clinic in Nashville run by tight ends George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen. However, fans were focused on the jersey Prescott chose to wear to the event - a New York Yankees baseball tee.

Is Dak Prescott going to New York?

Let’s all just calm down. Not everything has to mean something. Yet, the moment Prescott showed up in a Yanks jersey, fans started to panic, assuming it means he could be making a move to the New York Giants next season. The assumptions don’t come out of nowhere of course.

Prescott is currently working on negotiating a long-term contract with the Cowboys, who have yet to come to an agreement. Prescott put up astonishing stats last season, but after the loss to the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the playoffs, Jones has been hesitant to give him an extension.

Now that he’s in his final year of his contract, the Cowboys are under pressure to decide, and with other quarterbacks around the league getting paid between $45 and $55 million per year, Prescott could actually ask for even more. Many reports are saying he will do just that. Some have said he won’t accept less than $60 million a year.

Whether or not the Cowboys will be willing to dish that out is the question. Thus, the assumption that he’ll be leaving the Cowboys next season, and potentially going to New York.

At this point, it seems unlikely Prescott will sign an extension unless there’s an impressive offer on the table. As for the Giants, at the quarterback position they have Daniel Jones and Drew Lock. Lock will be a free agent next year and will likely part ways with New York, leaving them in the market for a new quarterback. It’s possible that could be Prescott, but does the MLB jersey confirm it? Well, of course not. But the speculation is now there.
