The New York Jets officially welcomed wide receiver Davante Adams to the team last week after trading with the Las Vegas Raiders, who in turn gained a conditional third-round pick in the 2025 draft. The move had long been anticipated and now it’s finally done, as Adams looks to reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom he played with for eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

It is expected that their dynamic will pick right back up where it left off when Adams takes the field for the first time. With Rodgers as his QB, Adams has 622 catches for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns in 108 games.

Adams to make Jets debut vs Steelers

The Jets have had a rough start to the season as they are currently sitting at 2-4 and fired head coach Robert Saleh after just five games. They’re now under the leadership of interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich. One of their biggest issues has been closing out close games, and the Jets hope that Adams will help solve that issue.

Adams could start making that impact as early as tonight, when he makes his debut for the Jets as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Sunday Night Football match.

He missed his last three games with the Raiders due to a hamstring injury that conveniently healed just in time for him to join a new team. He was a full participant in practice this week. Not only will he be starting vs the Steelers tonight, but Ulbrich said they will play him as the WR1, giving him a full workload. He joins receivers Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, and Mike Williams, although Williams is not expected to stick around much longer.

The Jets game against the Steelers tonight is a must-win as they look to break their three-game losing streak with the help of Adams.
