Is Jordan Love playing in the Packers preseason finale vs. the Baltimore Ravens?
Quarterback Love has impressed in joint practices with the Ravens and declared himself “ready to go” for the new season.
Jordan Love is gearing up for his second season as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers having led the team to the NFC Divisional Playoffs in 2023. Matt LeFleur’s team have one NFL preseason game left to play, against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, although whether the 25-year-old will be playing remains something of a mystery.
Not that Love is carrying an injury, as is the case with many others who don’t feature in preseason. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Love impresses in Packers-Ravens joint practices
The Californian has been hugely impressive in the Packers’ joint practices with the Ravens and feels both he and his team are “ready to go” for the start of the regular season, which Green Bay begin by facing the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo in Brazil on September 6.
“It’s all a feel thing and feeling where guys are at,” Love told the media ahead of Saturday’s game against the Ravens. “I like where we’re at offensively. I think we’re ready to go, get the season started. You never really know until you get out there, but we’re just trying to be as ready as we can be.”
Many think of the Ravens as having the NFL’s top defence, yet Love completed 17 of 26 passes and recorded four touchdowns in the red zone in the teams’ joint practices.
LeFleur and Love coy on final preseason game against Ravens
With Love full of confidence, LeFleur and his quarterback have a decision to make on Saturday. Could he use the extra game time to sharpen up further and maintain momentum, or does he risk losing it and suffering an injury?
The Packers coach has so far kept quiet about Love’s prospects of playing, with the player himself equally coy: “I don’t know. We’ll see. We’ll see. I haven’t decided yet on that one, but we’ll see”.
The final preseason game between the Packers and the Ravens takes place at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, with kickoff at 1pm ET. Both teams have registered a win and a defeat in preseason so far.
