Isaiah Bond out to break Xavier Worthy’s NFL Combine record
The 2025 NFL Combine is underway and this weekend, the wide receivers will work out in front of the scouts in hopes of improving their draft stock.

The NFL Combine workouts got underway on Thursday with the defensive linemen and linebackers. Here’s what the rest of the weekend has in store:
- Friday, February 28, beginning 3 p.m. ET: Defensive backs, tight ends
- Saturday, March 1, beginning 2 p.m. ET: Quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs
- Sunday, March 2, beginning 2 p.m. ET: Offensive linemen
One wide receiver who will work out on Saturday has his sights set not just on impressing NFL scouts and coaches, but on breaking a combine record.
Isaiah Bond eyeing Xavier Worthy’s 40-yard dash record
Currently, the record for the fastest 40-yard dash time is held by wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who set it just last year with a time of 4.21 seconds. The 40-yard dash is one of the combine’s most popular drills, as it has huge draft implications. Worthy was selected in the first round by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who transferred to Texas from Alabama ahead of last season, is looking to break Worthy’s record. He’s previously clocked a 40-yard dash time of 4.28 seconds and thinks he can beat Worthy’s time on Saturday. Bond finished his final college season with a career-high 15.9 yards per reception and six total touchdowns.

He’ll have some good competition though, as there are plenty of speedy players at this year’s combine - especially the receivers. Of those who could be contenders to break the record are Georgia’s Arian Smith, Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka, Auburn’s KeAndre Lambert-Smith, and Ole Miss' Jordan Watkins.
