“It’s going to be painful”: Packers’ Parsons prepares for Dallas reunion
A month after leaving the Dallas Cowboys for the Green Bay Packers, Micah Parsons is to come face to face with his former team at AT&T Stadium.

A special kind of showdown is brewing this weekend in the NFL as the Green Bay Packers (2-1) head to AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys (1-2). The matchup marks the highly anticipated return of star edge rusher Micah Parsons to his former home turf.
“I look at it as just another game”
“I accepted my fate weeks ago when the trade happened,” Parsons told the Associated Press as he looked ahead to Sunday’s clash. “So, for me, it’s just all about playing another game and just doing what I do best, and that’s just be a disruptive football player.
“I think the media and the fans are trying to blow it up to be such a big thing. But I just look at it as just another game at AT&T.”
Drafted by the Cowboys in 2021, Parsons was a four-time Pro Bowler during his four seasons in Dallas, but was traded to Green Bay in August after a protracted, acrimonious contract dispute with the franchise’s owner, Jerry Jones.
“That’s my guy”
Asked about facing Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Parsons said: “It’s going to be painful. That’s my guy. He was always like a good mentor for me. But you know how it is. He always told me if I ever faced him that it’ll be a great matchup, so I’m excited to see what Sunday brings itself.”

Since Parsons’ departure, the Cowboys’ defense has struggled to find its footing. They’re currently allowing the third-most total yards per game (397.7) and lead the league in passing yards allowed, giving up an average of 288 yards through the air.
The Packers made headlines by signing Parsons to a record-breaking four-year, $188 million deal, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The contract includes a staggering $136 million in guaranteed money.
