Jahan Dotson ‘excited’ to be playing for Ron Rivera
Jahan Dotson says he’s ‘extremely excited’ to be playing for coach Ron Rivera, ‘who cares about his guys’. Rivera proved just that.
Jahan Dotson, the record-setting wide receiver from Penn State, was acquired by the Washington Commander as No. 16 overall. And earlier this week, the 22-year-old spoke of how excited he was to be playing for head coach Ron Rivera.
“I am extremely excited to be playing for him”, Dotson said ahead of his first practice with the Commanders.
Jahan Dotson on Ron Rivera: “he cares about his guys”
“Honestly, someone who I have been watching for years on TV. You can tell he cares. A guy who cares about his guys and just wants to win. And that’s what I want to do. Coming from Nazareth, Pa, being so close to my parents, when you get dropped off, you wanna be able to have someone who you know is going to take care of you, and I know I have the faith in Coach Rivera to do that, and I know we’re going to win a lot of games here.”
Rivera proved Dotson right
Additionally, Dotson was willing to skip his own graduation from Penn State on Saturday in order to attend the final day of the Commanders’ rookie minicamp. However, Rivera wouldn’t let that happen, echoing exactly what Dotson said about the head coach.
This also shows the mutual respect those two share and will be bringing to Washington.
Rivera also shared earlier that one of his most memorable moments last week was meeting Dotson’s parents.
