Jalen Hurts is last in this passing stat among starting QBs, should Eagles be worried?
The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0 after their win over the KC Chiefs on Sunday, but their passing game has yet to take flight.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of a road win over the Kansas City Chiefs that moved them to 2-0 after the Super Bowl rematch on Sunday afternoon. While the title defense season has got off to a great start, there is always something to stress over in Philly, and right now it’s their quarterback play.
Less is more for Hurts?
We have seen Jalen Hurts put up video game type numbers in the past, but that didn’t exactly translate to the team success that the Eagles have enjoyed lately. Remember in the Super Bowl a few couple years ago when he had 300+ yards passing, 70 yards rushing and accounted for 4 TDs, but the Eagles lost the game?
Last year he didn’t need to do as much. He passed for 220 yards and still had 72 rushing yards but he wasn’t relied on as much as the Eagles waxed the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Two games into the season Philly seems to be lightening the load on Hurts under new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
Patullo is in his first year in charge of the Eagles offense after Kellen Moore was scooped up by New Orleans to become the Saints head ball coach. The early reviews of the new play caller have been less than enthusiastic in the City of Brotherly, in large part because of the lack of production in the passing game.
Philly’s flight is still boarding
In the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys he was an incredibly efficient 19/23 for 152 yards, but he was dinking and dunking all over the field except for a 51 yard pass he completed to Jahan Dotson. In the Super Bowl rematch on Sunday, Hurts had just 101 yards on 15/22 passing. He hit DeVonta Smith on a 28 yard pass which essentially sealed the game for the Eagles, but that’s been the extent of his down field completions through two games.
Yikes: Eagles star QB Jalen Hurts has TWO completions of 10+ air yards in two games this season.

That's tied with Tyrod Taylor for 34th in the NFL.

Hurts’ two deep balls to Dotson and Smith are the only two passes he’s completed over 10+ yards this season, which puts him 34th among all quarterbacks in the NFL through Week 2. He is tied with Tyrod Taylor in that statistical category and Taylor only played in the fourth quarter of the Jets loss to the Bills after Justin Fields got hurt.
So far the underwhelming passing stats haven’t caused too much concern for the Eagles who have won both of their opening games, but things are going to have to get sorted out soon. We all know that Philly fans patience is awfully thin, even when their team is winning football games.
