Jason Kelce chooses between his brother and his team
Brother Travis Kelce or his beloved Philadelphia Eagles? That’s the choice facing Jason Kelce ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

The NFL Conference finals saw two home wins for two of the most successful teams of recent years. The all-conquering Kansas City Chiefs continue their hunt for a historic three-peat, while the Philadelphia Eagles return to the Super Bowl for the second time in two years.
That means that Super Bowl LIX is a rematch of the 2023 Championship game, with the Chiefs taking on the Eagles. Super Bowl LVII was notably a meeting of brothers Travis and Jason Kelce, playing for the Chiefs and the Eagles, respectively.
Jason Kelce retired after suffering defeat and he’s now a prominent media personality. Ahead of this year’s Super Bowl Travis asked Jason where his loyalties lie, to his former team or his own brother?
“Here’s the biggest thing. Obviously, you’re my brother. I’ll always root for my brother. That’s the reality of it,” Jason said on the New Heights podcast. “Even though I’m decked out in Eagles gear, I’m always rooting for Travis.”
Jason and Kelce were in conversation on their podcast, looking ahead to Super Bowl LIX. Jason was wearing a retro Eagles sweatshirt and cap, making no secret of his NFL allegiances.
He continued: “But, there’s a lot of people in the Philadelphia organization – whether it’s players, coaches, people in the building – that feel like extended family to me, especially my former offensive linemen. Like (right tackle) Lane Johnson feels like a brother in a lot of ways. I’m rooting for those guys too."
“I’m rooting for Philadelphia and I’m rooting for Travis Kelce. That’s the reality of it. No matter what on game day, I’m going to be happy for one of those sides and I’m going to be sad for the other side.”
Jason Kelce was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 191st pick of the 2011 NFL Draft and went on to establish himself as one of the best centers in NFL history. He spent 12 years with the Eagles and earnt First-team All-Pro honours on six occasions, lifting Super Bowl LII with the team.
