Jason Kelce still won’t apologize to Jerry Jones, even after Dallas’ Thanksgiving beatdown of Chiefs

Does Jerry Jones deserve credit for Dallas’ recent streak? Maybe, but that’s where Jason Kelce draws the line.

Update:

If Jerry Jones woke up Friday morning feeling extra smug, he did kind of earn it, and that’s coming from a very jaded Cowboys fan who’s a much lesser fan of Jerry. But between pulling off the Quinnen Williams trade and then watching his Cowboys stuff the Kansas City Chiefs like a Thanksgiving turkey, the man probably hasn’t been this satisfied since he accidentally invented the mega-jumbotron.

But while Jerry gloats, one person wonders why we should apologize to the person who “fixed” the very thing he broke himself to begin with.

Jason Kelce refuses to apologize to Jerry Jones

Because of the Cowboys’ recent success, many fans have wondered if we should apologize to Jerry after the criticism he received for trading away star defensive player Micah Parsons. Jason Kelce says absolutely not.

On the latest episode of “New Heights”, Jason and Travis were talking all things NFL - trades, momentum, Thanksgiving spreads, the important stuff - when the conversation shifted to Jerry’s blockbuster deal. Before Thursday’s loss to Dallas, the Cowboys were already 2-0 with Quinnen Williams in the lineup. Now they’re 3-0, and let’s just say the man is wreaking havoc like he’s personally offended by interior offensive linemen.

But back on the podcast, before Dallas stomped all over the Chiefs’ offensive line, Jason Kelce made one thing extremely clear: he is not apologizing to Jerry Jones.

“Do we owe Jerry an apology? Who owes Jerry an apology?” Jason snapped. “They sucked! Their defense was horrendous. What are we talking about?”

“Your car doesn’t work. You go get it fixed. And now I’m supposed to apologize for saying it broke down on the highway? No. I don’t owe anything.”

He makes a great point, and I wholeheartedly agree. The Cowboys’ defense really was leaking oil earlier this year. But after the Quinnen trade, suddenly Dallas has a pass rush that looks like it’s fueled by spite.

Kelce still gives Jerry credit where it’s due, though. He praised the move as not just good but actually better than what most fans expected. Jerry said he’d replace Micah Parsons’ production, and instead brought in a wrecking ball for the center of the defense.

“For years they haven’t had that big-man strength in the middle,” Kelce said. “Quinnen brings that. It’s a great move. Great job, Jerry. Still not apologizing.

And after watching Quinnen and the Cowboys defense bulldoze the Chiefs on Thanksgiving? Well… let’s just say the apology window hasn’t opened any wider.

If anything, Jason Kelce is probably feeling even more justified. After all, he said Dallas needed fixing, Jerry fixed it, and Thanksgiving proved the repair job was legit. Just don’t expect Jason to clap too loudly. He’s an Eagle, after all. There are limits.
