Jason Kelce’s emotional statements about his brother Travis Kelce help to understand his current situation
The former Eagles star opened up about how his bond with Travis has evolved, and why their weekly podcast means so much.

Peyton and Eli Manning have both won Super Bowl rings, while Jim and John Harbaugh are championship-winning coaches. However, Jason and Travis Kelce are the only siblings to have both won a Super Bowl and faced each other in the NFL’s showpiece game.
The brothers’ special on-field achievements are matched by their off-field rapport, which Jason, the elder Kelce, explained to Starcade Media at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, which they both played in alongside their father Ed.
The evolution of Jason and Travis Kelce’s relationship
The former Philadelphia Eagles center, who is almost two years Travis’ senior, revealed their relationship had evolved from their initial older brother-young brother dynamic, and that he now classes the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who is dating Taylor Swift, of course, as his “best friend on the planet”.

“We loved each other growing up. We still love each other,” Jason shared. “Now it’s more like peer to peer, whereas growing up, being the older brother, it was a little bit different.
“Now it’s just, he’s my best friend on the planet. We get to talk once a week, and our families are close.”
How a podcast brought the Kelce brothers closer together
Kelce’s “talk once a week” comment was a reference to the brothers’ ultra-successful “New Heights” podcast, which they launched together in September 2022 and was the eighth-most-listened-to podcast on Apple Podcasts in 2024. In August last year, they signed a deal with Amazon worth a reported $100 million.
“Travis and I have been close for a long time,” Jason Kelce expanded. “Now with the podcast, we talk to each other more than we ever have.”
And the ex-NFL star, who retired from football after losing Super Bowl LVII to his brother, confessed the pair are aware of the need to hold some things back in their incredibly public weekly catch-up.
“I think we try to share the right amount on the internet, the viral moments and whatnot,” the father-of-four explained. “But you also try to keep some of the stuff private… We’re a family that loves each other, we love being around each other, and it’s good to sit down and talk once a week.”
Where to listen to, or watch, “New Heights”
New episodes of “New Heights” air every Wednesday and can be found on major podcast platforms and in video form on YouTube. Jason and Travis Kelce discuss everything from sports news and headlines to their personal lives, and are occasionally joined by sporting and celebrity guests.
