Jeremiyah Love’s pre-draft message: “I’ll do whatever it takes for my team to win”

The running back out of Notre Dame could be the first to go top five in an NFL Draft since 2018, but the player himself has a completely different focus.

Update:

Jeremiyah Love, the standout running back from Notre Dame, is one of the most exciting prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. At 20 years old, Love is already being talked about as a potential top-five pick, a milestone no running back has reached since Saquon Barkley went No. 2 overall in 2018.

During his time at Notre Dame, Love proved himself as a versatile and dynamic playmaker. He finished the 2025 season as an All-American, impressing scouts with his ability to carry the ball, catch passes out of the backfield, and contribute in the blocking game. His combination of size, speed, and football IQ makes him a complete back capable of making an immediate impact in the NFL.

Forget the draft hype - here’s how Jeremiyah Love is impressing NFL teams

Despite the hype, Love isn’t stressing over which team might select him or whether he’ll be a top-five pick. Instead, he’s focused on what he can control - his process, preparation, and proving he’s a complete player.

“I try not to worry about it because that’s just another stressor in my life I don’t need,” Love told USA TODAY. “I’m gonna go somewhere. And it really doesn’t matter where I go or what pick I go. I’m gonna go and do my thing.”

Love has thrown himself into the pre-draft process, from the Scouting Combine to meetings with NFL teams. He’s been deliberate in making connections with coaches and showcasing both his football skills and his character.

“I go into meetings with these coaches and I kill ‘em, no matter what they throw at me, whether it’s talking about scheme, talking about ball, talking about me as a person,” Love said. “I’m very confident in myself and just confident in my ability to answer any questions they throw at me.”

Part of Love’s appeal to NFL teams is his versatility and team-first attitude. He emphasizes that he can contribute in multiple ways, whether running the ball, catching passes, blocking, or playing special teams.

I’m a complete player. I’m a team player. So, whatever team drafts me is gonna get the best version of me, and I’m gonna put in the work every single day,” Love said.

Love believes this mindset will allow him to make an immediate difference wherever he lands, turning his new team into a contender and helping them compete for championships.

“At the end of the day, we’re gonna win some championships, win some Super Bowls and have some great seasons,” he said.

The NFL Draft is coming up later this month, with the first round taking place on Thursday, April 23. Fans will be waiting to see which team buys into Love’s vision and makes him a centerpiece of their offense.
