Jerry Jones explains approach to trade deadline - Is Maxx Crosby really in play?
The Dallas Cowboys have been linked to Maxx Crosby ahead of the NFL trade deadline, but owner Jerry Jones says not so fast.

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in the league in almost every category after owner Jerry Jones traded away their best player, Micah Parsons, to the Packers ahead of the season. Now, they are desperate to get some help on the defense as the trade deadline approaches.
Jones’ message to Cowboys fans ahead of trade deadline
During his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones spoke about the team’s approach to the 2025 NFL trade deadline amid swirling rumors around Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

While reports suggested Dallas had inquired about Crosby, insiders later clarified that the Raiders were not actively shopping him, and he remains in Las Vegas...at least for now.
Jones emphasized that any potential trade would have to make sense for the team both on the field and financially.
“If there were a trade, it will be because it fits us,” said Jones. “And to fit, there’s got to be a reason why the player would leave that we’re interested in going forward with, and it would have to fit us in terms of our plans on our roster, the financial and everything that goes with that."

He also cautioned against overreacting after a dominant win over the Washington Commanders, noting that success doesn’t mean the Cowboys should “gather up all of this talent that’s waiting around out here on the trees.”
Despite stars like Crosby, Trey Hendrickson, and Jeffery Simmons likely being off the table, Jones left the door open for other moves that could improve the roster for this year and beyond.
With the trade deadline set for Tuesday, November 4 at 4 p.m. ET, fans will be waiting anxiously to see whether Dallas actually takes a risk and makes a move.
