Josh Allen’s season might have ended a couple weeks ago in Kansas City, but that doesn’t mean he was done making bank. Allen was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player on Thursday in New Orleans, and with that honor comes a massive bonus.

Allen put Bills on his back

The Buffalo Bills quarterback was finally named MVP after beating Lamar Jackson in a tight race that lasted essentially the entire season. Allen took a team that let go of their biggest stars last offseason and entrusted their QB to get them back in position to make a run at a Super Bowl, and that’s exactly what he did.

With a relatively unknown cast of characters Allen put the team on his back and led them to the two seed in the AFC. Buffalo went 13-4 in the regular season and even beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to put an end to their win streak that stretched back to two Christmases ago.

Allen passed for 3,731 yards with 28 TDs and just six INTs which was a career. He has passed for more yards and more touchdowns in other years, but it was his efficiency that made the difference this year. He didn’t turn the ball over and made game winning plays when his team needed him, like on that 4th and 2 TD run against the Chiefs to seal the game in Arrowhead.

Put it on the registry

On Thursday at the NFL Honors Ceremony Allen was named the MVP of the NFL barley beating out Lamar Jackson in voting. He beat Jackson and the Ravens in the playoffs, but apparently that had no bearing on the MVP voting which was turned in before the playoffs started.

With his first MVP award, Allen is set to rack in a $1.5 million bonus from the Buffalo Bills making an early exit from the postseason a little sweeter. Allen is set to get married to his fiancé Hailey Steinfeld in the offseason will probably help cover at least some of the costs for the pending nuptials.
