However, they’ve received great news with the upcoming return of a potentially crucial player to their offense, led by their star quarterback.
When could Marquise Brown make his Chiefs debut?
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, a high-profile free agent signing, has yet to debut for the reigning Super Bowl champions. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Brown is expected to return between Weeks 16 and 17 of the regular season.
Brown underwent surgery for a sternoclavicular injury sustained during a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is scheduled to meet with his surgeon in Week 15 to be cleared from the injured list.
Chiefs' reinforcements before 2024 NFL playoffs
On Friday, the Chiefs welcomed back running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end Charles Omenihu, just in time for their crucial game against the Las Vegas Raiders, in which they clinched their playoff berth.
“Hollywood” Brown, who turned 27 on June 4, is coming off a challenging season with just 574 yards for the Arizona Cardinals. However, he could be a significant factor following Rashee Rice’s injury, joining stars like DeAndre Hopkins and rookie Xavier Worthy as Mahomes’ primary targets.
Brown could therefore be the ideal Christmas present for Mahomes, with the December 25 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers potentially marking his comeback. Crucial time as the Chiefs aim for a third consecutive Super Bowl title.
