LA wildfires prompt Vikings-Rams Wild Card game to be moved to Arizona
The NFL have confirmed that the NFC playoff game will not be staged at SoFi Stadium with the State Farm Stadium the alternative.
Monday’s Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams playoff game has been moved to the State Farm Stadium in Arizona with the change prompted by the ongoing complicated situation caused by wildfires in the state of California.
In an NFL statement, the league announced the decision to move the Monday Night Football game to Arizona, prioritizing public safety and after speaking with the corresponding authorities in the city of Los Angeles.
The Rams were scheduled to host the Vikings at SoFi Stadium after winning the NFC West title, but will now have to travel to Glendale in Arizona to host the game.
The match will be broadcast on ESPN, and the league announced that tickets for the match between both teams will go on sale on Friday as the two franchises search for a ticket to the Divisional Round.
Stafford speaks out
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford sent a message of support to all impacted by the fires and re-assured fans that they were going to play for all those affected and seek victory.
“Every time we put on our uniforms, we are the Los Angeles Rams. We play for the people in this community, the people who support us, and this week will be another example of that,” Stafford told the media.
