The 2023 NFL preseason has concluded, and the focus now shifts to the regular season. As we approach the opening game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions on Thursday, September 7th, there are still some last-minute roster adjustments taking place across all teams.

By 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, all teams were required to reduce their rosters from 90 players to 53 players. This season marks the introduction of a single cutdown day, unlike the previous year when rosters were trimmed to 85 players after the first preseason game, then to 80 after the second, and finally to 53 after the third game.

In addition to the 53-man roster, teams can maintain a practice squad of 16 players, including a minimum of 10 players who have participated in two or fewer NFL seasons. Although practice squad players can be signed by other teams for their 53-man roster, they cannot be signed directly to another practice squad.

Following the cutdown deadline, teams now have the opportunity to claim waived players from other teams. Notably, several prominent names became available due to the cuts, so it remains to be seen if other teams will seize this opportunity. The waiver order is determined by the same order as the 2023 NFL Draft.

To help our readers keep track of these developments, we have gathered all the latest action across the league to make it easier to follow along.
