if there was any doubt at all, Montgomery called game with this 31 yard TD dash to end any chance of Baltimore making a comeback. This was a clash of AFC and NFC titans, and it didn't disappoint. The Lions went into Baltimore and beat one of the AFC's best teams. They advance to 2-1 while the Ravens drop to 1-2 after Week 3.

DET's defense held Baltimore to a three and out after the field goal to go up a TD, and on the biggest play of the game the Lions went for it on 4th down and of course it was Goff to St. Brown. St. Brown had 7 catches for 77 yards and none were bigger than this one that essentially ended the game.

For the third straight game, Derrick Henry coughed up a fumble, and this one cost his team the game just like it did back in Week 1 in Buffalo. Aidan Hutchinson was the one who knocked it out of Henry's hands and the Lions took over with 8:31 to go.

DET was held to a field goal as the defense kept the Ravens within one possession but the fumble turned the game on it's head.

On the first play of the 4th quarter it was Detroit going deep into the play book and running a jet sweep option with St. Brown and Biggs. It looked like the Lions offense of the last few years. Ben Johnson might not be there anymore but John Morton is the new man in Mo Town and he called a great game.

After the Ravens went three and out following the TD to tie up the game, the Lions got the ball inside their 5 yard line again and again they had a huge drive. This one didn't take as long thanks to David Montgomery's 72 yard run to set up the Lions go ahead TD. Montgomery ended the night with 151 yards on 12 carries and was no doubt the MVP for DET in Baltimore.

Goff and the Lions responded quickly, taking just three and a half minutes off the clock to tie the game up with this perfect pass from Goff to St. Brown. Goff had another spectacular game going 20/28 for 202 yards and 1 TD, hitting every big throw when it mattered most.

Baltimore came out of the halftime break and took the lead on the opening drive of the third quarter as Jackson hit Andrews with a 14 yard TD pass. After this drive the offense would slow down, going three and out and getting held to a field goal in their next two drives.

The Ravens defense got the ball back for Lamar before halftime and he made amends for the goal line stand with a TD to Rashod Bateman right before the half to send both teams to the break tied at 14-14.

The Ravens were knocking on the door after a Jackson pass to Tez Walker put them down to the 2 yard line. The Detroit defense held strong on three straight Henry runs inside the 2 and then Lamar Jackson fumbled the 4th down roll out and Detroit kept BAL out of the end zone on a huge goal line stand.

The Lions started this drive inside their two yard line after their punt returner field a punt inside the 10 and a penalty backed them all the to the 2. It was an 18 play, 98 yard nearly 11 minute drive that David Montgomery started to get warmed up on. He finished the drive with a one yard TD run and that got him going for the rest of the night.

The Ravens countered with a quick scoring drive that was capped off by Derrick Henry's 28 yard run to the house. Both teams scored on their first possessions and that was just a taste of what was to come on a night full of fireworks from Baltimore.

It was the Monday Night match up we were hoping to see. It was a matchup between two Super Bowl hopefuls and they treated us to a spectacle from M&T Bank Stadium.

The Detroit Lions came out and set the tone early with a balanced opening drive of Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs got the opening TD of the night but David Montgomery took the torch from there as Knuckles ran all over the Ravens defense as Sonic watched on in awe.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM BALTIMORE!!!

The Lions start the night with the football after the Ravens win the toss and differ.

Monday Nights with Lamar

Lamar Jackson was made for primetime. If you don’t believe me, just look at the numbers. In nine Monday night games he has thrown 22 TDs and no INTs in 239 pass attempts. Most importantly he is 7-2 and has led the Ravens to victory in their last five games on Monday Night Football. When asked why he’s so good one the final day of each NFL week, he attributed it to that one extra day of prep. "I'll say that probably the extra rest day, extra film, get a good feel for who we're playing against and go from there," said Jackson.

Bama backs in the spotlight tonight

Tonight won’t just come down to who lights it up through the air. These two teams have two of the most dangerous running backs in the game. Like the Jackson and Goff, these two ball carriers have very different styles. Gibbs is a lightening rod that is maybe the most dynamic, shifty back in the league while Derrick Henry is a monster who can run through defenders or past them. Gibbs had over 1,400 yards in just his second season in the NFL last year while came up 79 yards short of his second career 2,000 yard season. Both backs came out of the University of Alabama, and both backs have turned into superstars in the league. Tonight they go head to head in a primetime battle from Baltimore.

NFL MVP Race after Week 2: Allen, Jackson tied at top, Daniels cracks first five

MVP Race after Week 2

Let’s just go ahead and say it. These two QBs are not just competing tonight, they will be competing all season for the league MVP. Lamar has already won a couple of them, but his focus is much more on making a deep playoff run come January and February. Goff has never been MVP but he did get votes in last year’s ballot. Like Jackson his focus in much more on a Super Bowl run than winning any individual awards. After Week 2 Jackson was tied for favorite with Josh Allen for the MVP award at (+300) in the odd makers eyes, but Jared Goff was left off the list despite his 6 TDs and completion perfectage over 80%.

Last match up

These two teams have been frontrunners for a few years now. The Lions exploded on to the scene back 2023 after Dan Campbell straightened the ship in Detroit. The Lions went to Baltimore for a Week 7 battle of giants but it was Lamar Jackson who stole the show accounting for four TDs and throwing for 357 yards in a 38-6 win to hand the Lions their second loss of the season. It was a reality check for the Lions who were on their way to the NFC Championship that year. The Ravens went to the NFC Championship that year too, but both teams fell shot. This year, lets see if anyone from this primetime matchup is playing on Super Sunday.

Star watch: Ravens

Jared Goff and Lamar Jackson are two of the best QBs in the league, but they couldn’t have more different styles. Goff is a pocket passer that uses his accuracy to move down the field while Lamar Jackson likes to get outside the tackles as he runs the offense. He has 6 TDs and no INTs which has been a staple of his for the last few years. Last year he was about 100 rushing yards away from becoming the first player ever to go for 4,000 in the air and 1,000 on the ground. Tonight he’s got a big chance to have a great night against a defense that has not exactly put all the pieces together yet.

Star watch: Lions

This team has and will be motored by the offense, and more specifically the passing game. When Jared Goff is rolling the Lions roll, much like we saw last week against the Bears. He went for 334 yards and 5 TDs, but even in Week 1 his numbers weren’t bad. He had 225 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT but the the Lions only scored 13 points after going 1/4 in the redzone. Goff has passed for 4,400 yards or more in the last four seasons, and you wouldn’t expect him to go for less this year with all the weapons around him. Tonight he will be in a head to head match up with two time MVP Lamar Jackson.

Last week: Ravens

Baltimore followed up their heartbreaking Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills with a demolition of the Cleveland Browns last week. It was a slow start for the Ravens but once they got going there was no slowing them down. Lamar Jackson got the flurry of TDs started with a 15 yard pass to Tylan Wallace to make it 10-0 in the early part of the 2nd quarter. Jackson would throw another three TDs and Roquan Smith returned a fumble recovery to the house as the Ravens waxed the Browns 41-17 to draw level at 1-1.

Last week: Lions

There were a lot of doubts that popped up after the Lions didn’t just lose Green Bay, they got spanked. With a new offensive and defensive coordinator on the sidelines, Detroit looked lost in Week 1, but last week was a whole other story. The Lions put up 4 TDs in the first two quarters, and the defense came up with two turnovers and forced a turnover on downs. Up 28-14, the Lions continued to pour it on as Jared Goff threw 5 TDs and 334 yards on 23/28 passing while Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 94 yards and a TD on 12 carries as the Detroit gave their former offensive of coordinator Ben Johnson a not so warm welcome back to the place he used to call home.

We are live from Baltimore

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday Night Football where the Ravens and the Lions come into tonight at 1-1 after the first two games of the season. Baltimore lost a heartbreaker in Buffalo to open up the season but last week they rebounded with a blowout win over the Cleveland thanks to a big fourth quarter from Lamar Jackson. The Lions got dominated by the Packers in an NFC North game to start the campaign, but last week they waxed the Bears in Detroit to restore order in the Motor City. It’s early in the season, but this will be a great measuring stick for both of these teams to fancy to be in the Super Bowl race come January.
