Update:

It was a wild game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys last week. In a game the Cowboys seemed poised to win with ease, they instead struggled mightily against the Giants’ defense. The game ended up being so close, it went into overtime. In the end, the Giants lost the fight, and wide receiver Malik Nabers has now taken the blame.

Giants’ Malik Nabers: “That’s my fault” on overtime interception

Nabers finished the game with 167 passing yards and two touchdowns, but unfortunately his big game was overshadowed by a critical mistake in overtime.

During the overtime, quarterback Russell Wilson was under pressure and threw a deep pass Nabers’ way, but it was intercepted by Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson. Russell Wilson said initially that there was a “little miscommunication” on the play.

As for Nabers, he initially deflected the blame, saying, “I don’t put it on myself personally. We all play a role.

But he quickly changed his mind, taking full accountability for the missed opportunity.

“Actually, I will take it. That’s my fault,” said Nabers. “I should have been in more communication with Russ to know what we were trying to do.”

“I was locked in on trying to figure out how the defense was playing me at the time, and I wasn’t really looking at the right time for him to give me what he gave me to try to change the run-up. That’s 100% my fault.

Wilson publicly backed the young playmaker, saying there’s “nobody I trust more.” The Giants remain winless to start the 2025 season and face the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
