The Manning brothers are back in the hotseat this evening for Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli. Tonight, we’ll see the 4th edition of the All-Star crew as the Bills and the Jets scrap it out for leadership in the AFC East.

The Bills top the section on 3-2 while New York are in hot pursuit, just behind them on 2-3. Both teams lost their last two games - something which cost Robert Saleh his job. Tonight’s game will be Jeff Ulbrich’s first in charge of the Jets. He take over on an interim basis which will be interesting to observe as he is relatively inexperienced as a head coach and this will be his first NFL at the helm.

Former NFL coach Rex Ryan joins the Manning brothers in Week 6

So plenty for Peyton and Eli to talk about during their show in which they will be joined as always by former New England Patriots head coach and Hall of Famer Bill Belichick along with special guests, actor Will Arnett and a man who knows both of the teams in action tonight, Rex Ryan.

Ryan has coached both the Bills and the Jets - in fact, his last two head coaching positions were precisely with those teams. He spent five years in New York, taking the Jets to the postseason in his first two years. On both occasions, his team lost the AFC Championship Game (to the Colts in 2009 and the Steelers the following year) and he left the franchise in 2014 with a record of 46-50.

In spite of protests from his players, Ryan was fired on 29 December 2014 but he wasn’t out of work for long. Just two weeks later he was unveiled as the Bills 18th head coach, signing a five-year contract worth $27.5 million. However, after taking the team to a 3rd-place finish in the AFC East in his first season, management felt his working methods were too complicated to grasp and he was let go in December 2016, leaving with a 15-16 record during his two seasons at the helm.

Special guest: Will Arnett

Canadian-born actor-comedian-producer Will Arnett appeared in the brothers’ video last year but this will be his first appearance on the show. A six-time Emmys nominee for his role as as Devon Banks in the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, the 47-year-old has built up a lengthy cv during a career that has spanned almost three decades.

His film work includes parts in moves such as G-Force (2009), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) The Nut Job (2014), Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022), and Twisted Metal (2023). Arnett has lived in New York for the past 20 years and has three children from two marriages.

“Monday Night Football” Bills @ Jets kicks off tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET (5:15 p.m. PT) on ESPN and ABC. You can flip over to ESPN2 during the game to catch the ManningCast with Peyton, Eli, Will and Bill who will be analyzing the game in their own inimitable style.
