Mark Sanchez makes bold revelation in first public comments after hospitalization and arrest: “She saved my life”
The former NFL quarterback said he underwent life-saving surgery after being stabbed during a violent confrontation in downtown Indianapolis.

Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez has made his first public comments since being hospitalized and arrested following an incident in downtown Indianapolis on Oct. 4.
The former New York Jets player, now a Fox Sports analyst, faces a felony battery charge and other counts after an alleged physical confrontation involving a truck driver.
Details of the confrontation
According to police reports, Sanchez was involved in a dispute with a 69-year-old truck driver over where the man had parked. The driver reportedly suffered “significant injuries” to his head, neck, and jaw during the altercation.
Police say Sanchez was pepper-sprayed before being stabbed three times in the abdomen.
Released from hospital and booked into jail
On Oct. 12, Sanchez was released from the hospital and booked into the Marion County Jail, where he was fingerprinted and had his mug shot taken before being allowed to leave Indiana.

“I’m grateful for that,” Sanchez added. “Sorry I can’t answer all of your questions. I’m recovering slowly. It’s a long process.”
Future unclear for Fox analyst
Sanchez had been in Indianapolis to cover the Week 5 game between the Colts and Raiders for Fox Sports. There is no word yet on when he might return to broadcasting. His next court date, a pretrial conference, is scheduled for Nov. 5.
