Mayweather reveals how much he paid for a suite at Super Bowl LVIII
Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. let’s us know just how many of his hard earned dollars he spent for a suite with 34 of his friends to watch Super Bowl LVIII.
Floyd Mayweather is a big fan of the NFL and sports betting. The retired boxing legend is always front and center when celebrities are picked out by the tv cameras in the Super Bowl crowd and this year will be no exception.
Through his Instagram account, “Money” Mayweather announced just how many of his hard earned dollars he paid for a suite at Allegiant Stadium.
“I don’t kiss ass and I never have to beg for nothing especially not to get a Super Bowl suite. I don’t mind accepting invites at times, but one things for sure... The person that’s paying does all the saying,” said Mayweather. “Therefore I get My Own seats and suites so I can do what I want and invite who I want! I’m blessed to be taking 34 people to experience the 1st Super Bowl in Las Vegas! $1,131,000.00″
After posting a picture of a check, Mayweather continued, “Just before I paid that light million and change for those little Super Bowl things, I had to pay the IRS, also known as Uncle Sam, $18,047,181. This is what I owed in taxes while I was retired, so imagine what I was paying when I was activated.”
Rival boxer Oscar de la Hoya, now owner of Golden Boy Promotions, says that he reckons the check is a fake. On Twitter de la Hoya said, “I don’t want to be an idiot, but where are the routing/tracking numbers on that check? I’m sorry but that’s not real haha.”
Mayweather and Super Bowl betting
“Money” is usually a heavy gambler when it comes to the NFL. Last year he lost $10,000 by backing the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.
In addition, the boxer was present during Super Bowl LVI, in which the Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20, which took place at SoFi Stadium.
