Update:

The Philadelphia Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years after defeating the Washington Commanders in the NFC Conference Championship. A big contributor to that win, and to their success this whole season, is running back Saquon Barkley.

Micah Parsons voices strong opinion on Barkley

The 27-year-old running back had an outstanding season in his first year with the Eagles and ended up as one of the top candidates for the 2024 MVP award, along with quarterbacks Josh Allen, Jared Goff, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow.

During Sunday’s victory against the Commanders, Barkley once again made a strong case for why he should win the award. While Allen was eliminated from the playoffs with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs later that evening, Barkley put up 118 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the Commanders to head to Super Bowl LIX. 64 of those yards and two of those touchdowns came on just two touches (his first two of the game).

His old teammate at Penn State and current Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons, had a strong opinion on Barkley after he started the game with a 60-yard touchdown.

Parsons is one of the best defenders in the league, as well as a close friend of Barkley’s after playing together at Penn State, so he knows a bit about what it takes to be the best, and he knows how hard Barkley works.

Barkley and the Eagles will go on to play the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, February 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The MVP award will be announced at NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6 at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans.
