The biggest surprise of the NFL season has to be the Philadelphia Eagles, who have managed to soar into week ten as the only remaining unbeaten team in the league.

It isn’t as if their schedule has been padded to get here either. Along the way, they have overcome some stiff competition, beating the Cowboys, the Vikings, and the Cardinals.

In week 10 they will play on Monday Night Football, where they will meet up with the Washington Commanders, who have had an altogether different experience this year.

Washington have found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreline against the Lions, the Cowboys, and the Titans this season, and while they had a three-game winning streak on the go, it was snapped by last week’s loss to the Vikings.

Off the field, they have found themselves once again in the media spotlight, as the DC Attorney General filed a lawsuit against them and their owner Dan Snyder for lying to an inquiry into sexual misconduct.

ODDS

It is no surprise then that oddsmakers are favoring the Eagles by 5 to 1, with Moneyline putting the spread at 11 points and the over/under at 43.5. A $100 bet on the Commanders to win will net you $400, while it will take a $500 bet on the Eagles to see $100 in profit.

PREDICTION

Apart from the off-field distractions, the Commanders are hampered by injury, with their defense and O-line depleted. Their defense is down two linebackers, Cole Holcomb and David Mayo, and their offensive line is going to have to go to battle without Andrew Norwell and Tyler Larsen.

Across the line from them, the Eagles are in far better physical shape, lacking only cornerback Avonte Maddox.

While the Eagles should be able to move the ball on the ground, through the air the Commanders will still put up a solid defense, with all of their secondary in good condition.

The Commanders offense is potent enough to get into double digits and that alone should be enough to keep it close, but the Eagles are currently a gear ahead of everyone else in the league.

Predicted Final score: Eagles 26-17 Commanders
