Netflix to Pay $50 Million for Dallas Cowboys Owner Docuseries

Netflix wants a Jerry docuseries

Netflix is close to acquiring the rights to make a new docuseries that will focus on the owner of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones, and is planning on paying $50 million dollars for the rights according to Puck News.

The deal has not been finalized, but, the report adds, Netflix beat out ESPN for the docuseries, which will relive Jones’ glory years with the Cowboys. In that era Dallas became one of the most dominant dynasties in NFL history.

The series will “follow Jones’ remarkable rise from the son of an Arkansas community store owner to one of the most innovative and influential leaders” in American sports.

It will also feature never-before-seen interviews with three of the Cowboys’ most iconic players: quarterback Troy Aikman, wide receiver Michael Irvin and running back Emmitt Smith. .

There is currently no release date scheduled and it’s still unknown how many episodes this docuseries will have. You can bet when it comes out, Cowboy fans and NFL fans alike will be anxiously awaiting the debut.
