Update:
New York Giants 13-28 Dallas Cowboys, [The Cowboys hold firm against a decent Giants effort], summary: score, stats, highlights | NFL Week 8

Cowboys for the win

Though they were definitely favored heading into this one, it took almost three quarters before the Cowboys began to show the gulf in class between themselves and the visiting New York Giants.

With both teams on 7 - 3 before the game kicked off, it was always going to be a gritty affair, but what we didn't expect is that a team known for their run game would actually provide some of the bigger moments of the night in the air. Indeed, Giants QB Daniel Jones provide some stellar passes on the night, but unfortunately he just couldn't inspire his team to a win.

Where the Cowboys are concerned, where should we begin? Dak Prescott was as calm as ever in the pocket and on many an occasion found Ceedee Lamb who provided the highlight of the night with an unreal one-handed catch. There was also the dual effect of RBs Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard. Last but not least there was the ever dangerous Micah Parsons who got himself a brutal sack on the night.

In the end the Cowboys will go to 8-3 with their 28-13 win, while the Giants will fall to 7-4.

1st & 10

The Cowboys recover the Giants' onside kick attempt and will see out the clock. That's a wrap. The Cowboys are now 8-3 while the Giants drop to 7-4.

Cowboys call a timeout, which suggests they are very conscious of the possibility for something unexpected here. Can the Giants make a play off of an onside kick?

Giants score on a nice play out wide and they will have their field goal, but there's 8 seconds left in this game. Can the Giants pull off some kind of dramatic finish here?

1st & 10

Holding called and half the distance to the goal is again the result. 1st & Goal.

1st & 10

A crafty play to Brightwell who also manages to stretch his arm into the end zone after being tackled.

2nd & 9

Parsons gets called for a personal foul and half the distance to the goal. 1st 10

2nd & 1

After a quick snap the Giants have a 9-yard gain, but with the clock now on 1 minute it's pretty clear this is going to be a loss. They'll remain in the playoff picture with a 7-4 record following this game, but it goes without saying: This is not ideal.

4th & 8

Brett Maher has stepped up for a field goal, but it misses. The Giants will take over but the score is 28-13 and there is 1:13 on the clock.

3rd & 9

Following yet another run from Elliot, there's no gain, but we've just hit the 2 minute warning. Barring something we've never seen, the Cowboys are going to win this game.

1st & 10

Elliot once again for a small gain. We're at a 2nd down now.

3rd & 9

After going with Elliot once again the Cowboys have setup different for their 3rd down. Lamb almost hauls in another one-hander but in the end there is a flag on the play.

1st & 10

Dallas is at the 38 and we;re off and running with Elliot attempting to break through. There's no gain.

Wack-a-mole anyone?

The Cowboys are enjoying the night.

Incomplete

Jones had time, but in the end couldn't find his man. Dallas will take over with 3:12 left in the game. It's not looking good for the Giants.

4th & 9

Good gain there from Daniel Jones. The Giants need to move as quick as possible now.

3rd & 25

The pressure is starting to tell. Following the sack, the Giants are called for a false start. 5-yard penalty.

2 & 10

Huge play by Micah Parsons to bring down Daniel Jones for a significant loss.

2nd &10

What would have been a 1st down is broken up by Anthony Brown's excellent work to break up the pass.

2nd & 6

The Giants seem not to understand the ticking of the clock. Brightwell gets them a 1st down but again the time is running away.

3rd & 3

following some decent movement by Jones, he finds his receiver for a small gain, but at this point, the clock is New York's worst enemy. We're about to cross the 6-minute mark and it doesn't look good.

1st & 10

Saquon Barkley shows his quality with a 14-yard gain and they've got a first down.

Hendershot with the TD!

The tight end benefited from a sleek play by Prescott to increase Dallas' lead.

The Giants will start from the 25 following a long kick by the Cowboys.

It's good!

Maher nails it once more and the Cowboys are now leading 28-13. That's 21 unanswered points for Dallas. The Giants are losing their grip on this with 8:52 left in the game.

2nd & goal

In the end it doesn't matter as tight end Payton Hendershot finds a hole and punches through it. Truth be told, he could have walked in the end zone given how big the gap was. Field goal is next.

Here's a look at the Lamb catch that was called outside

The referees have stood firm and the pass has been called incomplete. What do you think?

Mike McCarthy has challenged the call so we've stopped play for a moment. Can the Cowboys get a touchdown out of this?

Unreal. Lamb with a one handed catch in the end zone but he just fails to keep his feet inside. 2nd & goal.

Huge play from Prescott again! Finding a wide open Ceedee Lamb for a huge gain. It's now 1st & Goa!

3rd & 11

Pollard finds the hole and punches through it. It took a combined 4 players to halt the RB.

2nd & 23

The Cowboys are called for holding and will take a 10 yard penalty after Prescott's brilliant play. Again they need to watch the penalties.

2nd & 9

What a play! Prescott finds Ferguson wide open after faking a dish to Elliot. Even better is the leap that Ferguson took over his defender. 1st and 10 after a 30-yard gain.

1st & 10

And another one

Pollard finds the hole and charges all the way for an 11-yard gain and the first down!

1st & 10

Prescott with a breathtaking pass to Lamb for the first down.

1st & 10

The Cowboys get off and running with Elliot, but he's unable to find a hole and is tackled for a slight loss.

3rd & 9

Jones is forced to scramble and tries to find Barkley with a short pass to begin the 4th quarter but he fails to connect. The Giants will punt the ball.

4th quarter coming

The 3rd quarter is over and the score stays the same. We've got the 4th quarter coming and the Cowboys lead 21 - 13. Can the Giants turn this around? If they're to make a go of it, they'll need QB Daniel Jones to connect on more of those simple plays that he's missed.

While it's clear that New York's run game is special, the reality is the Cowboys have dealt relatively well with it. The Giants will need to switch things up if they're going to get back into this one.

1st & 10

The Giants go with Brightwell again, but he's only able to get a yard at best. 2nd & 10

We've got 1:14 left in the 3rd quarter and it appears that Kearse is having some difficulty. He is, however, able to walk off the field on his own steam which is a good sign.

1st & 10

Following a 15-yard gain from RB Gary Brightwell, he follows it up with another decent carry. 1st and 10 once again!

Where things are at

If you've just joined us then let's say Welcome from AS USA. The score is currently 28 - 13 in favor of the Cowboys.

It's been a curious game, with the Giants initially looking like they could be orchestrating an upset, but with 21 unanswered points by the Cowboys, it's clear momentum has shifted from one team to the other.

Brett Maher with another clean kick through the bars. The Cowobys are up 21-13

Prescott finds Dalton Sholtz for his second TD of the night and now we've got a field goal from Maher to come!

Giants call for time, knowing things are getting tight.

2nd & 5

Following an Elliot run for a small gain, Prescott lobs it to Lamb, who comes down with a one-handed catch, but there is a flag on the play. PAss interference and we've got 1sst and goal at the 5-yard line.

1st & 10

Prescott almost got caught but manages to find Pollard Ferguson for the catch and they've got themselves a first down!

4th & 1

Jones finds Barkley but he drops the catch! Cowboys ball at the 50.

3rd & 6

On the 40, Jones is once again under pressure but manages to find Barkley for a short pass. Too short in fact, as it's 4th & 1. Can they make it?

2nd & 5

Jones found himself in trouble and though he evaded two, is finally sacked for a loss of 1 yard.

2nd & 1

They needed 1 for the first down and Saquon Barkley gave it to them.

1st & 10

Daniel Jones leads it off with a pass out wide to Isaiah Jones for a 9-yard gain.

Brett Maher steps up for the kick and away we go once again!. The ball is long and with that the Giants will start on the 25.

It's Good!

We've got the 3rd lead change of the night with the Cowboys now leading 14-13!

Precott delivers! A big play out to the left where he finds Dalton in the end zone's left corner.

3rd & Goal

Cowboys called for a false start. They've got to improve their penalty count before it costs them more than they want to pay,

3rd & Goal

Following a sharp pass through the middle from Prescott, there's a slight gain. We're at the 13.

2nd & goal

We're at the 14 and the Cowboys are pushing for it. Meanwhile the Giants have lost a player.

1st & goal

3rd & 13

Prescott with a big play to Lamb and we've got a first down!

2nd & 11

Dak Prescott with a shot pass to Pollard, but it looks like there might be a slight loss.

1st & 10

Pollard with a decent gain for a 1st down off the run.

1st & 10

Elliot is the chosen one and gets just inside the 30 for a small gain. We're at 2nd and 5 but we've got a Cowboys' Jake Ferguson on the ground.

3rd & 6

Prescott went for it with a big play to Lamb, but the defense is called for holding and we've got a 1st down.

2nd & 6

Pollard this time for a small gain.

1st & 10

It's Pollard this time who breaks through the pocket and Dallas have themselves another 1st down!

3rd & 4

After a smooth move by Prescott, the QB manages to spin away from what would have been a snack for a small gain. Then its Elliot with the big play and we've got a 1st down!

1st & 10

The Cowboys are on the 25-yard line and it's Elliot who tries to run through the hole, but he's promptly stopped in his tracks.

As it stands...

It's been a relatively even first half, but the Giants must be given credit for being sharp on both ends of the field. Having forced 2 interceptions out of the Cowboys' Dak Prescott, it's clear that the Giants are determined to put their loss against the Lions behind them.

Where Dallas is concerned, it's somewhat surprising to see the same team that destroyed the Vikings 40-3 last week playing like this. None the less, the second half awaits. The Giants lead 13 - 7 and away we go!

We're almost ready to go

With the 2nd half just moments away, it's fair to say the Cowboys are going to have to pull up their socks. Following two interceptions from Dallas' signal caller, the boys in blue and white find themselves trailing the Giants 13-7.

Where New York is concerend, we've gotta say: They've gone big tonight. Not the least of which was Daniel Jones' 44-yard bomb.

The Jonas Brothers are in the house!

The AT&T stadium is being treated by the trio at the moment. A welcome breather from what's been a pretty tense first half.

Dak Prescott's 2nd INT of the night...

Not a good look for Dak. Not at all.

It's Good!

Graham Gano with his second field goal of the night. The Giants take a 13-7 lead into the half. We'll be back back!

4th & 3

The Giants have run down the clock and will now attempt a field goal from 47 yards with 3 seconds on the clock.

2nd & 9

Bakrley tried to bring them closer for a better look at a field goal but it was a 1-yard gain.

2nd & 3

Jones is forced to scramble and does well to get to the 40-yard line.

3rd & 15

Julian Love picks off another Prescott pass after the receiver deflected the ball into his waiting hands. The Giants are not backing down in this one and for the moment, the Cowboys and their QB aren't coping.

2 minute warning

We're getting ready to restart. It's the final 2 minutes of the 1st half.

2nd & 11

Definitely not what the Cowboys wanted. Prescott faked for Elliot but it's Pollard who takes it. Unfortunately, his trickery couldn't save him this time and a loss is incurred.

1st & 15

Prescott sets his men once again and dishes to Elliot this time. 4-yard gain.

1st & 10

Offense called for a false start and they receive a 5-yard penalty. 1st down once again.

3rd & 4

After some confusion on the play, Prescott calls for the first timeout of the half.

2nd & 9

Dak Prescott appears to be grinding through this one. We're at 3rd & 4 now and the Cowboys are on the hunt.

A spectacular play by Daniel Jones

Not known for their passing game with Saquon Barkley in their ranks, the Giants and their QB have been putting on a show tonight against the No.1 defense in the NFL. See for yourself.

The Cowboys catch the punt and we'll be back with a first down in a few.

4th & 8

After a failed pass by Jones, the Giants will have to punt. Both defenses have now forced a three and out on each other.

After the kickoff, the Cowboys will start their drive from the25-yard line. Here we go again. Prescott is forced into throwing it away after faking a dish to Elliot. The pressure was on and the Dallas' signal caller knew it.

Saquon Barkley with the big play

The Giants have a genuinely special player on their hands.

It's good!

The Giants are now leading 10-7 after they complete their field goal with no problems.

2nd & Goal

New York answers in the best way possible. It's Saquon Barkley who cut through Dallas' defense like a knife through butter. Field goal is up.

Huge play by Daniel Jones. A bomb to Smith who goes up on top of his defender and halls in the catch just in front the end zone. 44-yard pass. 1st & Goal!

Barkely is buries, but the Cowboys are called for holding and there will be a 5-yard penalty. 1st down!

Barkley has a go at the pack, but is able to make only a few yards. 3rd & 3

1st & 10

The Giants will get us off and running now at the 25 yard line with their 1st & 10.

It's good!

It's the Cowboys 7 and the Giants 3. We've got a game on our hands!

1st & Goal

Easy Peazy. Elliot cuts right through the middle and finds the end zone. Dallas are on the bored!

Dak Prescott's interception

Not the best moment for the Cowboys quarterback. He made up for that across the quarter. None the less, we're at a 1st down and the Cowboys have a 1st and goal.

1st & 10

Piollard with a small gain and we go to 2nd & 6

The Cowboys have regained possession of the ball in quick fashion. Prescott and his boys will have to be more precise on this drive if they want to stamp their authority on the evening's proceedings.

Following the punt there is a flag on the play. Holding has been called on the Cowboys, but they will have a first down.

3rd & 4

Jones goes out wide an fails to make the connect. The Giants are going to punt.

1st & 10

Jones has got us off and running off of the return and the Giants are now up to 8

Welcome Welcome Welcome

Though we did before, we just want to extend another warm Thanksgiving Day welcome from all of us here at AS USA. It's Week 12 in the NFL and we've got a special game for you with two NFC East rivals.

It's the Dallas Cowboys hosting the New York Giants and given that both teams are locked on 7-3 this one's gonna be heated. With that said, the Cowboys are coming off their biggest win in years, while the Giants are fresh from a disappointing loss to one of the worst teams in the league.

At any rate, stay with us as we'll be taking you through all the action play by play. Welcome once again and ENJOY!

The Cowboys mean business

Though we had no doubt, it definitely looks like DeMarcus Lawrence knows what tonight's game means in the Cowboys' quest to become NFL champions in this 2022-23 Season.

The Giants are getting ready

The Giants' players know what's at stake tonight. The question is can they rise to the occasion? Though both teams are locked on 7-3 in the NFC East, they are most definitely on different ends of the spectrum at the moment,.

It's almost game time!

With less than half hour to kickoff, the players are on the field and the crowd is getting hyped. It's the New York Giants on the road in Dallas where they will face the Cowboys.

With both teams on 7-3 in the NFC East, this is most definitely a big game. The Cowboys are red hot at the moment, but are definitely hindered coming into this one by injuries. The Giants on the other hand - despite their record - are definitely struggling.

Brett Maher is getting ready!

The Cowboys kicker recently broke his own field goal record, as if he needed to do that in order to show he's the best in the business. We're as excited as you Brett!

Set to visit both, will Odell Beckham Jr. Dallas Cowboys or his former team the New York Giants?

NFL

Set to visit both, will Odell Beckham Jr. Dallas Cowboys or his former team the New York Giants?

Adding another piece of intrigue to this clash between two playoff contenders from the NFC East, the prolific WR recently disclosed that he's going to spend time with both camps. On the one side, it's the Cowboys. They need no introduction. On the other, you've got OBJ's former team and one in which he still has close friends. Could the result of tonight's game affect his final decision on where he plays next?

Do the Giants have the key?

While Saquon Barkley is clearly a weapon that should be used, the truth is the Giants are facing a Cowboys team that is starting to find its feet and more over are playing some stellar football. Defense will be the difference maker no matter how you cut it.

Does he have a point?

To hear Smith tell it, a loss to the Giants would be nothing short of a Thanksgiving disaster and in truth, the Cowboys are the team with post season ambitions that even owner Jerry Jones has made clear. On the other hand, we're betting that the Giants will have something to say about that.

A Jets fan perhaps?

With both teams tied for second in the NFC East and sitting on a 7-3 record behind the Philadelphia Eagles who are on a record of 9-1, you can imagine there are some who won't be happy to see either of them pick up a win tonight. With that said, somebody's going to be left standing when that final whistle goes, it's just a question of who and in what condition.
