Ladies and gentleman, we made it. We survived the cold remains of winter, the lonely spring and the hot dry summer, and now it’s time for a downpour of football that will have us hooked for the next seven months.
Football, this week!
The regular season may not start until the first week of September, but the preseason will serve as a perfect month long hors d’oeuvre platter for a famished group of football fans who will be chomping at the bit to watch the game they love. The stars of the NFL may not be getting much playing time, if any, but it won’t matter.
The Hall of Fame Game kicked off the preseason slate last Thursday, when the the Cleveland Browns beat the New York Jets by a score of 21-16, becoming the most-watched broadcast television show in the United States last week.
All 30 of the other teams in the league will have three exhibition games. Once Week 1 of preseason starts, on Thursday, Aug 10th, there will be games played on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and one Monday leading up to the final tune up game which will feature the Houston Texans and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, August 27th.
