NFL confirms $279.2 million salary cap for 2025 season
The NFL and NFL Player’s Association agreed to the 2025 salary cap and announced it officially on Thursday.


The NFL salary cap has been steadily increasing every year with the exception of 2021, following the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, it increased by a whopping $23.8 million.
NFL confirms 2025 salary cap
On Thursday, the NFL and NFL Player’s Association announced their agreement of a $279.2 million salary cap per team for the 2025 season, per NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. This number is a record high for the NFL.

Just last week, the league projected the salary cap to be somewhere between $277.5 million and $281.5 million, so it looks like that was accurate.
NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy said that the total projected player costs, including benefits, are $362.48 million - around $11.5999 billion with all 32 teams combined.
The NFL teams can now start planning for the new year, as they know exactly how much they can spend in the 2025 season, which officially begins on Wednesday, March 12.
