The Texans had tonight’s second pick, and it was no major surprise they went for quarterback C.J. Stroud, but what WAS a surprise was the news that started filtering in as we waited for the Cardinals to make the third pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft... the Texans had decided to trade up and go straight for the third pick too, which they used to land Will Anderson Jr.
What did that cost the Texans? They gave the Cardinals tonight’s number 12 pick, their second round number 33 pick and their first and third round picks in 2024. The Texans did also get a fourth round pick this year (pick 105).
