NFL Fantasy Football Week 3 Lock, Load, or Lose? Wide Receiver Edition

It’s Thursday, so that means you should be setting your fantasy lineups for the coming week. Here’s a look at the WRs you should be locking in or losing.

After two weeks of NFL action, we’ve seen that Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is the real deal. We knew Stefon Diggs would be a hit and we were pretty sure Tyreek Hill would do well even without Pat Mahomes throwing to him, and we were right. None of this is a shock anymore. But if you didn’t happen to get a Cooper Kupp or a Justin Jefferson, here’s the receivers you should lock, load, and lose for Week 3.

Week 3 NFL Fantasy: Wide receiver LOCK

Jakobi Meyers, New England Patriots (vs Ravens)

Meyers is one to pick up from the waiver wire this week. Meyers, who is on fewer than 50% of fantasy leagues, has 95 receptions from 144 targets in 19 games with Mac Jones at quarterback, compared to 86 catches and 123 targets and 29 games without him. He is coming off a Week 2 that saw him catch nine of 13 passes for 95 yards. He’s highly involved in the Pats offense this season and worth picking up and locking in.

Week 3 NFL Fantasy: Wide receiver LOAD

Curtis Samuel, Washington Commanders (vs Eagles)

The Commanders have been throwing nonstop this season and Curtis Samuel saw his usage shoot up to 89% in Week 2. Samuel is the first wide receiver to have more than nine targets, more than seven receptions, and a touchdown catch in consecutive games for Washington since Pierre Garcon in 2013. He has 25 receptions and 133 receiving yards with 38 yards on five rushes and two TDs over the first two games.

Week 3 NFL Fantasy: Wide receiver LOSE

Isaiah McKenzie, Buffalo Bills (@ Dolphins)

163 players have been targeted at least four times in an NFL game this season, but McKenzie has only seen three targets in each of his. He’s not a bad player, but behind Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, and Dawson Knox, McKenzie just isn’t getting the shots. It’s time to drop him.
