I feel like we say this every season, but it feels like this NFL season has just been riddled with more injuries than usual right off the bat. Through the first four weeks of the season (with two games still to go on Monday night), there have already been several significant injuries to starting players throughout the NFL. After Sunday’s games, here’s who else was added to that list.

NFL Week 4 Injury Update

Week 4 started off with an NFC East battle between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants on Thursday Night Football. There were three significant injuries during that game - two for the Cowboys and one for the Giants.

Dallas Cowboys (@ Giants)

  • LB Micah Parsons: Parsons was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, and could potentially miss 2-4 weeks, although he’s hopeful the extra few days of recovery will allow him to still play in Week 5. COO Stephen Jones says he’s week-to-week and could suit up next week, but there is concern that he could be out until after the Week 7 bye.
  • DE DeMarcus Lawrence: Lawrence is reportedly dealing with a Lisfranic injury to his right foot. The bones were not broken, so fortunately, he won’t need surgery, but he could still need one to two months to recover. The Cowboys are planning to put him on Injured Reserve, so he will miss at least four weeks.

New York Giants (vs Cowboys)

  • WR Malik Nabers: The rookie sensation suffered a concussion during the fourth quarter of the game when he hit his head against the turf. He is now on concussion protocol and reportedly in good spirits. He has 10 days after the TNF game to advance through the protocol before they play the Seahawks on Sunday.

The injury bug continued to bite on Sunday as 26 more teams played throughout the day.

New Orleans Saints (@ Falcons)

  • RB/TE Taysom Hill: Hill scored two rushing touchdowns before exiting the field after clutching his chest. He was later ruled out of the game with an abdomen injury. Head coach Dennis Allen said that the injury is not the same bruised lung that sent him to the hospital, but rather “ribs on the other side.” Hill will get an extra day to recover as the Saints don’t play until Monday night in Week 5.
  • LB Willie Gay Jr.: Gay was ruled out of the game with a hand injury in the first quarter. It’s the second time he’s had to leave a game early with an injury this season. The severity of the injury is not yet known.

Cincinnati Bengals (@ Panthers)

  • DE Trey Hendrickson: Hendrickson left the game halfway through the final quarter with what the Bengals said was a neck injury, but he was later spotted with his arm in a sling, according to multiple reports.

Chicago Bears (@ Rams)

  • LG Teven Jenkins: Jenkins left the game on Sunday in the second quarter. Head coach Matt Eberflus said he bruised his ribs and he’s now considered day-to-day.

Green Bay Packers (vs Vikings)

  • WR Christian Watson: Watson left the game early with an apparent ankle sprain. It’s since been reported that the injury is a high-ankle sprain that could potentially send him to Injured Reserve to miss at least four weeks.

Pittsburgh Steelers (@ Colts)

  • RB Cordarrelle Patterson: Patterson was carted off the field in the first half of the game due to an apparent ankle injury. The severity is not yet known.
  • RG James Daniels: Daniels will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an Achilles tear in the first quarter of the game.

Indianapolis Colts (vs Steelers)

  • QB Anthony Richardson: Richardson hurt his hip early in the game on Sunday and was ruled out for the rest of it. After the game, he said he felt a little sore. His injury status for next week is not yet known.
  • RB Jonathan Taylor: Taylor hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter of the game and has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. It’s been reported to be “mild”.

Denver Broncos (@ Jets)

  • RB Tyler Badie: It was a scary moment when Badie went down with a back injury after getting hit by LB Quincy Williams. He got up and ran off the field, but later needed to be carted off. Head coach Sean Payton did not give an update after the game, but it’s since been reported that he is able to move his legs and arms.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs Eagles)

  • WR Trey Palmer: Palmer suffered a concussion during the game and was ruled out for the remainder. With a short week, it’s unlikely he’ll be cleared in time to play in Week 5.

Washington Commanders (@ Cardinals)

  • S Tyler Owens: The rookie special-teamer left in the first half with an injury but was able to return. He later suffered another injury to his shoulder.

New England Patriots (@ 49ers)

  • OT Caedan Wallace: Wallace suffered an injury to his ankle in the first half of the game and was eventually ruled out. He was later spotted in a walking boot.
  • S Kyle Dugger: Similarly, Dugger was also ruled out of the game with an ankle injury.
  • C David Andrews: Starting center David Andrews left the game after the Pats’ first offensive possession with due to a shoulder injury.

Kansas City Chiefs (@ Chargers)

  • WR Rashee Rice: An unfortunate collision with teammate QB Patrick Mahomes caused a knee injury to Rashee Rice early in the game and he was quickly ruled out. Head coach Andy Reid said the injury was “not good” and reports say he could potentially have suffered a torn ACL. If that turns out to be true, the injury is likely to be season-ending.

Cleveland Browns (@ Raiders)

  • LB Jordan Hicks: Hicks was already listed as questionable before the game due to elbow and rib injuries, but suited up anyway. During the first half of the game, he seemed to re-aggravate the elbow injury and left for the sidelines. He did eventually return to the game and seems to be okay.
  • G Ethan Pocic: Pocic suffered an ankle injury at the end of the first quarter. The extent of the injury is not yet known.
