Week 2 of the NFL preseason is in the rear view, and we have just one more weekend of games before we shift focus to the opening weekend of the regular season. Before we look at the Week 1 match ups on the second weekend of September teams will have a chance for one last tune up.

Jobs on the line in Week 3

The final preseason games give us a number of things to keep our anticipation sky high. A lot of stars around the league got their first bit of action over the last weekend. Guys like Josh Allen and Josh Mahomes made their preseason debuts, but there are still some of the league’s top players that have yet to take a snap. The final week of games before the big show will give these stars their first taste of action.

The other thing to keep an eye on will be the fringe players looking to make a 53 man roster. Some players seasons, careers, or lives will be determined during the final four quarters of the last preseason games coming up.

There are some big games with colossal interest coming up this week, including the Packers vs. Chiefs (potential Super Bowl preview), 49ers vs. Texans (Trey Lance/Texans QB competition), Vikings vs. Broncos (Russell Wilson’s debut in Denver?), and the Giants vs. Jets (Daniel Jones chance to secure QB vs. Joe Flacco and Jets backups).

There are a handful of games, in bold, that will be televised nationally. The other games can be found in each team’s local markets, or the NFL’s streaming service, NFL+.
