Update:

The NFL has announced that it will investigate links between Jeffrey Epstein and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch following the latest tranche of documents released.

Last week the Justice Department released more than three million documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. ESPN reports that Tisch’s name appears at least 440 times in those documents.

The majority of the correspondence appears to be from 2013, five years after Epstein was convicted for soliciting a minor for prostitution and became a registered sex offender.

In a statement released on Friday, Tisch said of the connection to Epstein: “We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments.”

“I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.”

Now 76 years old, Tisch is a big figure in the movie industry and has produced films like ‘Forrest Gump’, ‘Snatch’ and ‘Risky Business’, notably giving Tom Cruise his first lead role.

Tisch became chairman and executive vice president of the Giants in 2005 and has twice accepted the Vince Lombardi Trophy after the team’s Super Bowl wins.
