NFL trade rumors: Possible trade destinations for Rams’ CB Jalen Ramsey
Cornerback Jalen Ramsey has had a fruitful run with the Los Angeles Rams, but it looks like he will soon be on the move as the team rebuilds its roster.
The Los Angeles Rams are looking to rebuild their roster after a disappointing season, and reports indicate that one change they are set to make is trading seasoned cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey has been with the Rams since 2019, and according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, there is a great possibility that the team will trade him in the next few weeks so as to clear up the cap space that they would need to rebuild the team. The Rams need to pay him $17 million in the coming season, and as they are currently $14 million over the salary cap, the 28-year-old is a logical choice for trading.
The cornerback remains in top form: he was named to the Pro Bowl for the sixth straight year, and delivered a career-high 88 tackles for the team in the past season. He is no doubt a top defender that other franchises would want to snap up, if they are willing to give up their cap space to do so.
Here are some teams where Ramsey could eventually land.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have proven to be serious Super Bowl contenders, making them an attractive destination for Ramsey. They need a good cornerback and he would fit the bill. The franchise will have to have a good think regarding finances, considering that quarterback Joe Burrow is nearing the end of his rookie contract. However, they may have enough space to accommodate Ramsey, who may help them win the Lombardi trophy that had been within their grasp.

Las Vegas Raiders
Ramsey said back in 2019 that Las Vegas was where one of his ideal playing situations would be. That bodes well for the Raiders, even four years later. As they have one of the worst defenses in the league, and rank third in cap space, they have both the need and the resources to acquire the cornerback.
Detroit Lions
Taking on quarterback Jared Goff’s huge contract cost the Detroit Lions a pretty penny, but they do still have some cap space to spare. As they also have huge needs at cornerback, acquiring Ramsey would help them move even further up in the standings in the coming season.
