We are not even a month into the NFL regular season, but already the wear and tear of four games is starting to take it’s toll on some of the leagues top players. Some players went into last weekend carrying injuries, while some were sent to the sidelines during the weekend.

Some teams will be with out their starting quarterbacks for the near future, while other teams saw their star running back go down with injures in Week 4. Here is a round up of all the key injuries to keep an eye on going into next weekend.

Tua Tagovailoa

Tua Tagovailoa was under center for the Dolphins game against the Cincinnati Bengals last Thursday after it was reported that he suffered a back injury the week before. A concussion was suspected, but Tua passed concussion protocol by a third party doctor who has since been fired. In Thursday’s game, Josh Tupou dragged the Miami QB to the ground and a frightening scene ensued as Tua laid frozen on the ground and was carted off the field with a concussion. He has been ruled out of the Dolphins clash with the Jets this weekend, but there is no word on how long Tagovailoa will be sidelined.

Cordarrelle Patterson

The Falcons may have won the battle, by beating the Browns last week, but they lost the war when they lost Cordarrelle Patterson for at least four games after being placed on injured reserve. The Atlanta running back who has 340 yards and three TDs no 58 carries suffered the injury prior to the game against Cleveland, and will now have to wait at least until Week 9 to make his return.

Javonte Williams

The Denver Broncos were dealt an early season blow when they lost their starting running back Javonte Williams for the season in their Week 4 loss against the Raiders. An MRI confirmed the worst for Denver as Williams suffered a torn ACL, PCL and LCL. The second yard back will miss the remainder of the season.

Johnanthan Taylor

Johnathan Taylor limped off the field against the Titans on Sunday and the Colts feared they would be without last year’s MVP candidate for an extended time, but test have come back negative and there is a chance he will be ready for Indy’s Thursday Night clash with the Denver Broncos.

Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones rushed for two touchdowns in the Giants win over the Chicago Bears, but sprained his ankle late in the game which sent him momentarily to the sideline until his back up Tyrod Taylor was injured just minutes later. He returned to the game, but lined up as a wide receiver as coach Brian Daboll needed him out on the field to communicate the plays to the rest of the offense. He is now listed as day-to-day but is expected to make the trip to London for the Giants showdown with the Green Bay Packers this weekend.

Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor came into the game in relief of Daniel Jones, and suffered a concussion just minutes after taking the field when he went scrambling down the sideline and took a big hit from a Bears defender. He was forced off the field and put through concussion protocol and ruled out for the remainder of the game which left Saquon Barkley taking snaps in the wildcat formation for the rest of the fourth quarter. There is no word on Taylor’s status, but he would have to be cleared by concussion protocol before the team leaves for London on Thursday.

Treylon Burks

One of Ryan Tannehill’s top targets in the post A.J. Brown era hobbled off the field after sustaining a foot injury in the Titans win over the Colts on Sunday. He was not taken off the field immediately although visibly hurt, but Mike Vrable said “We ask all players outside of two-minute that, if you can’t play the next play, to take a knee,” Vrabel explained. “That’s a safety thing so that they are taking a knee and they stop the play, and then we can get — first of all, we can look at you, and we can give you medical attention, and then we can get a sub in.” The rookie didn’t take a knee and was taken out on the next play. He left the stadium on crutches and in a boot after being diagnosed with turf toe. There is still no word on when he will return, but he won’t require surgery, although it could keep him out for a few weeks.

Jamison Crowder

One of the most devastating injuries of the weekend was Jamison Crowder breaking his ankle in the Bills game against the Baltimore Ravens. He was carted off the field and his leg was air casted hinting to the severity of the injury. Crowder will be placed on IR as the Bills await an estimated return date.

Isaiah McKenzie

Isaiah McKenzie entered concussion protocol on Sunday after taking a hard hit against the Baltimore Ravens. He missed the rest of the game and is being evaluated for the Bills next game against the Steelers this week. Buffalo is desperately thin at the wide receiver spot with Jake Kumerow and McKenzie questionable they have just three healthy receivers. Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and Khalil Shakir could be the only options that Josh Allen will have next Sunday.

Jahan Dotson

Commanders rookie wide receiver, and one of the few bright spots to this early season for Washington, Jahan Dotson was forced to the sidelines during the 25-10 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. He suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter, and is doubtful for the Week 5 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Head Coach Ron Rivera said the injury could keep the rookie out “a week or two.”

Lewis Cine

The Vikings rookie safety was taken to a London hospital directly from Tottenham Stadium after suffering a serious leg injury against the Vikings on Sunday. He suffered a compound leg fracture and will stay in London to have surgery on Tuesday. This will bring saftey’s rookie season to an end, but it is reported Cine is in great spirits.
