Offensive line disaster? Cowboys get manhandled in joint practice
The Dallas Cowboys held their first joint practice of training camp with the Rams on Tuesday, and it did little to provide hope of an improved o-line.

On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys held a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams ahead of their preseason opener this Saturday. And unfortunately, the Cowboys’ offensive line struggled HARD, revealing what appears to be a serious issue up front.
Cowboys run game stalled, O-line dominated by Rams offense
Video and on-site reports consistently showed the Rams’ defensive front dominating the run game and collapsing the pocket against Dallas’ makeshift offensive line. With Tyler Guyton out for 4–6 weeks and Robert Jones sidelined by a neck fracture, backup Nate Thomas looked overwhelmed, especially against standout pass rusher Jared Verse.

While Tyler Smith remains a reliable presence, the rest of the unit struggled so badly that the Cowboys couldn’t get anything going on the ground - a major red flag for a team relying on running back by committee.
The Cowboys recently re-signed La’el Collins, who hasn’t played since 2022, as a potential emergency fix. But if the offensive line doesn’t improve, quarterback Dak Prescott could be under siege and the passing game might suffer despite the talent of the hyped receiving duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
