Coming into this Week 12 contest, the Detroit Lions are actually in decent shape, not to mention leading the NFC North. Sadly, the same can’t be said for their division rival and Thanksgiving opponent, the Green Bay Packers.

Packers @ Lions: The Breakdown

There’s no way to sugarcoat it, the Packers have an extensive injury report as they head into their Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions. Off the bat, we’ve got two starters who have been ruled out due to injury: RB Aaron Jones and safety Darnell Savage. From there it gets worse as the team has no less than five players listed as questionable, and there is also Emmanuel Wilson - another running back - who was placed on the IR on Wednesday along with rookie Luke Musgrave who has a lacerated kidney. This is all to say, the Packers are not in good shape as they prepare to take on the team with the second-best record in the NFL at the moment.

As for the Lions, they come into this one with an IR that almost doesn’t exist in that there is only one player on it: left guard Jonah Jackson. Incidentally, this will be the fifth game in the last six that Jackson will miss i.e., his absence is not surprising as he continues to recover from both an injury to his wrist and a high ankle sprain. With that in mind, it will be rookie Colby Sorsdal who takes his place. For a look at the full injury report for both teams, continue reading.
