Packers 16 vs 22 Bears summary Jordan Love injured, stats, score and highlights | NFL Week 16

In the most important game in the NFC North this season, these two teams gave us one of the best finishes we have seen all year. Caleb Williams dials up a 46 yard bomb to DJ Moore who makes a fantastic catch to walk it off and give the Bears the NFC North lead with just two more games to go. 

The Packers got the ball first, and they were moving down the field but Willis fumbled the 4th and 1 snap to give possession back to the Bears who could win it with a FG or a TD. The Bears chose the scenic route. 

On 4th and 6, with one bulllett left in their holster it was Caleb Willliams finding undrafted rookie WR Jahdae Walker who tied the game up with 20 seconds to go and the Bears forced overtime in the most unlikely of circumstances. 

The Bears would put a couple of FGs on the board in a night that Chris Santos went 3/3 on an extremely windy night from Chicago. His final FG with under 2:00 to go in the 4th quarter cut the lead to a one score game, and the Bears had to go for the onside kick, and their prayers were answered as Romeo Doubs juggled the bouncing ball and the Bears recovered. 

Willis came off the bench and had a great game. He went 9/11 for 121 yards and this touchdown and ran for another 44 yards as the Bears had trouble adjusting to the QB switch. 

Willis would lead the Packers to a field goal drive in his first action in months and Green Bay went into the half up 6-0. The Packers were knocking on the door again, but Josh Jacobs fumbled inside the 10 and again GB was held out of the end zone just yards away from the goal line. 

The Packers would put a field goal on the board on their second drive after getting stopped inside the 10 again. On their next possession Jordan Love took an ugly shot to the head that knocked him out of the game and brought on Malik Willis for the next two and a half quarters. 

The Bears got the ball inside their 10 after the turnover on downs and marched it all the way down the field but Chicago was stopped inside the 10 as well and the first quarter ended without a single point on the board. 

What a game we just witnessed from Chicago. The Bears came up with an incredible fourth quarter comeback and won it in overtime with a bomb from Caleb Williams DJ Moore. 

It wasn't the prettiest of games to begin the night. It was low scoring, there were penalties, and there weren't a whole lot of points. The Packers started the game with the ball and were held on fourth down inside the 10 yard line which would be a reoccurring theme throughout the night.

Willis finds Wicks on the pass to the right side and he makes the catch for 6 yards.

Williams gets the handoff out of the shotgun and he picks up 3 yards.

GB get the ball from their 21 and here comes Willis who got sacked on the last play of the 4th quarter, and looked to injure is throwing shoulder.

Williams off his back foot and he finds Walker in the end zone for the first TD of the Bears night to tie it all up. 

Against all odds, CHI go for the onside kick and recover it!!!

Williams felt the rush up the middle and his pass to the back of the end zone was too high and hit off the goal post.

Williams to the left side for Zaccheaus on the left side on the out route but that pass was a little high.

Williams finds Loveland on the out route for 6 yards and he gets out of bounds with 36 to go.

Williams over the middle for Moore on the in cut and he makes the catch for a gain of 20!

Williams hits Swift over the middle and he takes it for 8 yards on the catch and run.

The Bears try the onside kick and Blackwell recovers the loos ball after Doubs muffed the bouncing ball.

Santos drills the 43 yard field goal but he took too long and the play finished after the 2:00 mark so they will lose that stoppage of play. 

GB lead 16-9 with 1:59 to go. 

Williams finds Moore for a short pass for a gain of 5 yards and that's going to be short of the marker.

Williams to the left side for Loveland and he makes the catch for a first down but an illegal shift on Moore is going to bring that play back.

Williams deep down the right side for Walker but that pass towards the sideline was too far out in front of the WR.

Williams escaped the pocket with the pressure closing in and scrambles for 11 yards, but that play is coming back after a holding call on CHI.

Wills tucks the ball to the right side and he slides down for a three yard gain, but a late hit on the QB is going to give GB a first down and 15 yards.

Blitz came on Willlams and he had to throw that ball away and he's going to be called for an intentional grounding which will back up CHI even more for the FG.

WE ARE BACK FROM CHICAGO FOR THE FIRST HALF OF ACTION!!!

Maliik Willis came in after Love got injured and drove the Packers down the field and set up a field goal. GB has been in the red zone 3 times but have just 6 points to show for it. 

Jordan Love was hit hard on a helmet to helmet hit that knocked him out of the game momentarily. We are still waiting on word on to whether he is going to return. 

Love was 8/13 for 77 yards before the injury. 

The Bears took it 90 yards down the field and looked like they were moving the ball with ease but got cute on the 4th down call and paid the price for it. Williams is 5/9 for 65 yards, and the Bears have 61 yards on the ground but but outside of their first drive they didn't do a whole lot. 

It's just 6-0 at halftime so most of our highlights are going to be defensive ones. GB got the ball to start the game and threw it on 4th and short inside 10 and turned it over on downs.

After the Bears got the stop, Chicago marched right down the field but then got cute and paid for it with this fumbled snap to Monangai. 

Both teams drove down the field inside the 10 and both teams got stopped on 4th down. It was the Packers first who failed to convert when Love found Watson in the end zone.

The Bears get cute trying to put Kmet behind center, the direct snapped it right to Monangai, but that went over his head and he had to fall on it all the way back at the GB 22!

Whats next: Bears

While this is the big one from the final stretch of the season the Bears will know that the job isn't done even if they win tonight from Soldier Field. Should they win tonight they have a couple of really difficult games coming up. After tonight, they will head to San Francisco on Sunday Night football and then host the Detroit Lions another game that could have some massive playoff implications in the division and the conference. 

Whats next: Packers 

This is obviously the big one and the Packers won't be worried about who they have remaining on their schedule, but we will so lets take a look at the next two games. After this NFC North battle, they return to Lambeau for a game against the Baltimore Ravens and then head to Minnesota for a divisional match up that could mean a whole lot depending on what happens over the next few weeks. 

Bears injury report 

The Bears have a couple injury problems at the WR position. Rome Odunze has been dealing with a stress fracture in his foot since a couple weeks ago and Luther Burden has been ruled out after suffering a groin injury last week against Cleveland. To add to that, TE Cole Kmet is dealing with a knee and and ankle injury and RB D'Andre Swift was limited in practice with a groin injury. 

Packers injury report 

The Packers are coming in with a couple of players on the injury list. Obviously the biggest injury is to Micah Parsons who will be out until the middle of next year, but Josh Jacobs has been dealing with some knee and ankle problems that could keep him out tonight. Christian Watson went to the hospital early this week with a chest injury but he is apparently ready to go after taking a big hit last week against the Denver Broncos. 

Last match up  

This is the second game in three weeks between these division rivals. The first game was tight until the very end but it was a slow start for both teams on a frigid night in Lambeau. Neither team scored in the first quarter, but Jordan Love tossed a couple of TD passes in the second quarter to put GB up 14-3 at the half. Chicago fought back to tie it at 21-21 with 8:00 to go in the 4th quarter, but Josh Jacobs put the Packers up a TD with a 2 yard score with 3:32 to go in the game. Williams drove Chicago down to the GB 14 but with seconds on the clock his 4th and 1 pass was intercepted by Keisean Nixon as the Packers put the game to bed.

NFC Standings 

Taking a look at the NFC Standings coming into the weekend we see the Seattle Seahawks at the top of the conference after their win over the LA Rams on Thursday night. That means the Rams have four losses just like the Niners, Bears and the Packers. The Bears are at the top of the NFC North, leading by a half game because of Green Bay’s tie against the Dallas Cowboys early in the season. The winner of this game will end the weekend at the top of the division while the loser will drop back in to Wild Card position heading into the final two weeks of the season.

Star watch: Packers 

There is talk around Green Bay and around the league that Jordan Love should be in the conversation for the MVP of the NFL. He may not be in the top five in any of the top QB statistical categories but he is managing the Packers perfectly and has them the Packers in a position in which they control their own destiny to win the NFC North. He's got 3,304 yards, 23 TDs and 6 INTs while completing 66.4% of his passes and tonight he knows that he could make a case for his MVP campaign, but more importantly he can put his team ahead in the division race with two weeks to go in the regular season. 

Star watch: Bears

Caleb Williams isn't the only one responsible for the turn around in Chicago, but he has been a big reason for the Bears revival. In just his second season in the NFC he has led the Bears to an 10-4 record coming into tonight, and that’s after having lost the first two games of the season. He set a couple of goals for himself this summer, wanting to complete 70% of his passes and throw for 4,000 yards. He has a chance for 4,000 yards, with 3,150 and three games to go but his 58% completion percentage will be tough to raise to 70%. He has thrown for 21 TDs and thrown 6 INTs and rushed for another 3 TDs but the most important thing is how he has led this team when they have needed him to. Tonight is going to be the biggest test he has faced in his brief NFL career. If he delivers tonight, it will show that he is ready for the big stage. 

Bears last game 

After dropping that massive matchup in Lambeau, the Bears thumped the Cleveland Browns in a 31-3 blowout from Soldier Field. A couple of first quarter TDs from DJ Moore and D'Andre Swift put the Bears up 14-0  and that’s how the two teams went to half. In the second half, Swift would get another rushing TD and Willams would hit Moore again as Chicago took a commanding lead and ended up keeping the Browns out of the end zone all afternoon. 

Packers last game 

The Packers went to Denver after getting that huge win over the Bears in Lambeau a couple of weeks ago, and met a team on an 10 game roll. It was a QB duel from Mile High Stadium as Jordan Love and Bo Nix went head to head. The game went back and forth for all four quarters, as Love threw for 276 and a couple TDs, while Nix tossed four TDs, the last of which was in the fourth quarter and was enough to edge the Broncos over the Broncos. The Packers would get three more possessions but Love threw an interception and the Packers turned it over on downs on the final two drives.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Windy City where the Chicago Bears come into tonight on top of the NFC North after an incredible turnaround season in Ben Johnson's first year as the head coach. After a rough rookie season Caleb Williams has his Bears in the hunt for the division title and chasing the one seed in the NFC, but they know they are going to have to beat the Packers tonight to have any chance at the North or the Conference. Green Bay was an early season favorite to be a contender in the NFC, and they have delivered so far but they are coming off a loss in Denver and looking to rebound but they will have to do it without Micah Parsons who tore his ACL last week against the Broncos. 

Packers vs Bears 

It's an NFC North matchup that could decide the division winner, and might even decide who gets the one seed in the playoffs out of the NFC. It’s a cold, windy, perfect night for a game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers who will go head to head for the top spot in the division.
