Packers vs Cowboys: What to know
The Cowboys are fresh and they know it
Just off a bye, the Cowboys come into this one well rested. Their last game was two weeks ago against the Chicago Bears, when they put on a show. On the day Dallas’ offense took on a Chicago defense that had only allowed an average of 18.8 points per game up to that point. Clearly the Cowboys didn’t read the script, with the contest ended in a 49-29 win. RB Tony Pollard had a stellar game and rushed for three TDs with 131 yards on 14 carries. Indeed, his 54-yard scramble for a touchdown along the left side of the field in the fourth quarter was something to behold and was part of a career high for him in single-game rushing. Expect more of the same on Sunday.
The Packers are in bad shape
On the other side, we’ve got the Packers who are currently staring a disaster in the face. In their last game, they were defeated by the lowly Detroit Lions which doesn’t exactly exude confidence heading into this one. Sadly, they were within a late touchdown of getting the win, but ultimately, they took a 15-9 loss against the Lions. By the score alone you can probably tell that neither offense was prolific. Again, we watched Aaron Rodgers struggle as he was only able to post one touchdown. At this point, the Packers are in desperate need of a win in order to preserve any hope of making the playoffs, which is going to be complicated against the Cowboys.
Packers vs Cowboys: The Prediction
Though Dallas is actually 1-3 against the Packers since 2016, we get the feeling they’re about to close that gap. While we don’t rule out the possibility, that Green Bay might just get it together on Sunday in front of their home crowd, we’re not convinced. With that in mind, we’re going with a Dallas Cowboys 28-24 win in this one.
