The Las Vegas Raiders snapped a three game losing streak with a defensive masterpiece against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night. Robert Spillane had two interceptions and Maxx Crosby applied constant pressure on Jordan Love in the 17-13 victory from Allegiant Field.
Jimmy G back under center
Jimmy Garoppolo came back for the Raiders after missing last week’s game against the Chargers with a concussion. There was a question if Davante Adams would be ready in time to take on his old team after suffering a shoulder injury, but the receiver was well enough to suit up against the Packers on Monday night.
They might have had their big names back on the offensive end, but it was the defense that won the game for the Raiders. Maxx Crosby was a constant pest for the Packers offensive line and was in the face of the Green Bay QB all night. He ended the night with one sack, and was a reason that the Raiders were able to come up with three interceptions.
Neither team looked very potent on the offensive end to start the game. Green Bay got a field goal as one of the two Carlson brothers, Anders, put the first points on the board.
LV strap down on D
Garoppolo and the Raiders would construct a long 14 play drive that would manifest the games first touchdown thanks to an 8 yard pass to Jakobi Meyers. Just a play later Spillane came up with his first of two INTs on the night. Las Vegas came into the game with just one interception, but picked off Love three times. Anders brother, Dan Carlson, would kick a field goal to give the Raiders the 10-7 halftime lead that they wouldn’t hold on to for too long.
Jimmy G got picked off coming out of the halftime break, and AJ Dillon took the reigns carrying the ball on 7 of the 8 plays in the TD drive. With no Aaron Jones, Dillon took the wheel and tied the game up at 10-10. Anders would put the Packers back in the lead with another field goal, but the Raiders used a blend of thunder and lightening to retake the lead early in the fourth quarter.
Josh Jacobs started the TD drive with a 24 yard carry, and then Davante Adams moved the ball down the field with a three catches on the 10 play drive. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Jacobs punched in what would be the game winning touchdown from a yard out.
Green Bay would have their chances to take the lead, but Love threw interceptions on two of the final three possesions as the Raiders hung on to snap their three game losing streak.
It's only fitting that the Raiders end the night with a defensive play. Amik Robertson went up and got it to close the door on the Packers chances to take a late lead.
Robert Spillane was the unexpected hero, picking off Love twice. The Raiders only had 1 INT coming into the night, but came up with 3 on Monday night.
Maxx Crosby had four tackles for a loss and one sack on a night that he was constantly in the face of Jordan Love.
Josh Jacobs started this drive off with a big run, and ended it by bullying his way into the endzone from two yards out.
After the pick, Green Bay ran eight plays to get into the endzone. Seven of those were runs to AJ Dillon who finished off the drive and tied the game with this 5 yard TD run.
The Packers had less than 100 yards in the first half, and could only muster a field goal through 30 minutes, but an interception to start the second half set up the only Packers TD of the night.
The play after the Meyers TD, Jordan Love got picked off for the first of three times which set up a late field goal to stretch the Raiders lead to 10-3.
The Raiders took a little while to get the offense going. They were moving the ball but couldn't get within striking distance. That changed with this 8 yard TD pass to Jakobi Meyers.

Love finds Musgrave underneath and he gets 8 yards on first down.

Taylor gets the pass out of the backfield and he stretches for the first down. He was originally marked down short of the marker, but after review they give it to him.

Love finds Musgrave on the right side and he is pushed out of bounds for a 7 yard gain.

Love was kept quiet for the entire first half, going just 7/12 for 56 yards and this INT on the play after the TD. GB's D made sure to lock down and keep the Raiders within one score holding them to a FG after giving it away inside the 10.
It took the Raiders a little while to get going, but with under 5 minutes to go in the first half, Garoppolo hits Meyers for the 10 yard TD.
There haven't been a whole lot of highlights for the Packers tonight. Dan Crosby and the rest of the Raiders have been keeping them quiet so far. GB have just 112 and are 1/5 on third down.

The line has gone down over the last few hours which means that the money is trending towards Green Bay, but this one is basically dead even. I don’t know who to take to be honest, but I’ll take a stab at it.

The Kelce Brothers have been the talk of the NFL over the last couple seasons. They both have Super Bowl championships. They are the hosts of a hit podcast together, and of course Travis is dating Taylor Swift which is currently the talk of the NFL and pop culture. But tonight’s game features another set of brothers that will be going head to head, and unlike the Kelce’s who play different positions we can measure them directly head to head. Dan Carlson has been in the league since 2018 when he came out of Auburn. He started playing for the Vikings his rookie year and he has been with the the Raiders ever since. Over his seven season career he is 147/166 and he is a perfect 4/4 this season. Anders is Dan’s younger brother, and is in his first year out of Auburn. He is 5/5 through his first four games with a long of 52 yards. Tonight’s game could come down to which brother performs better.
Adams back and has had enough
Luckily for Jimmy Garoppolo, he will have his top receiver Davante Adams lined up out wide. The former Packer is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury he suffered against the Chargers last week, but should be available for tonight’s game. Adams was critical of his teams performances after their loss to the Steelers a few weeks ago. He told reporters it’s time start start doing those things that make the difference between winning and losing. “That’s the thing with this year, it’s doing it. Not just talking about it.
Live, Love, Jordan
Jordan Love went into last week’s game as one of the top rated passers in the league. The Packers first year starter had 7 TDs and just one INT after three weeks, which put him at the top of the charts when it came to TD/INT ratio. Last week’s two INT performance set him back a bit, as Love debuted under the lights for the first time. Tonight he gets another crack at shining on primetime against the Raiders defense.

Jimmy G is back in action tonight after suffering a concussion late in the loss to the Steelers that kept him out of last week’s contest in LA. Tonight the Raiders Qb is back under center, but that doesn’t guarentee the Las Vegas offense is going to get much better. They haven’t scored more than 18 points in a game all year, and Jimmy G is averaging just 236 yards a game, with 5 TDs and 6 INTs. He is never going to be a quarterback that is going to win games with jaw dropping stats. The former Niner is much more of a game manager than he is game winner, but so far not much has worked for the Raiders and Josh McDaniels.
Raiders last game
Jimmy G sat out last game, still feeling the affects of a concussion he suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. That opened the door for rookie Aidan O’Connell to make his NFL debut, and Khalil Mack was sure to give him a warm welcome. The former Raider sacked the rookie six times as LA got to O’Connell seven times and for the first three and a half quarters it looked like the Chargers were going to ease to victory.
