Patrick Mahomes never tires of rewriting the Chiefs' record books. In this evening’s matchup against the Raiders, the Kansas City quarterback became the franchise’s all-time leader in touchdown passes, surpassing the record set by Hall of Famer Len Dawson almost half a century ago.

The Chiefs' number 15 got his 238th TD through the air in the second quarter of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders by connecting with wide receiver Justin Watson.

Dawson set TD passes record over 14 years

In the more passing-friendly modern era, it’s understandable to see how Mahomes needed fewer games to break Dawson’s record.

The legendary quarterback needed 183 games to get 237 touchdown passes in a career that spanned from 1962 to 1975 while the two-time NFL MVP did it in just 108 games.

Mahomes now leads practically every QB stat in franchise history including the most completions (2,625), attempts (3,934), passing yards (30,828), and game-winning drives (20).
