Pittsburgh Steelers release incredible throwback jerseys for 2025 season
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a roster full of new players for the upcoming season and the new look Steelers will feature a throwback style from the 1930s.

It’s the black and yellow of always, but with a new twist on an historic look that turns back the time almost a century. The Pittsburgh Steelers have unveiled their Yellow Legacy Throwbacks and these new jerseys look like they are going to fly off the racks.
Back to the future in the Steele City
The jersey’s which are an homage to the team’s inaugural season in 1933 will be worn on for the Steelers Week 8 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Two of the most historic teams in the league will face off as Aaron Rodgers meets his former team and he will be doing it in style.
The new threads will feature a yellow background with black stripes, which honors the Steele City. The stripes are akin to those of the 1933 jerseys, an will have the city crest on the left shoulder. The beige pants are the same color of that of the team that played in the Steelers first season, and the matte gold helmets are a twist on the traditional black helmets with the yellow stripe down the middle.

“We’re excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh,” president Art Rooney II said on Monday afternoon. “It’s especially fitting that we’ll debut these uniforms on Sunday night, Oct. 26, when we play the Green Bay Packers — another franchise in the league with a long and rich history.”
Steelers most famous looks over the years
We all have grown accustomed to see the Steelers come out on Sundays and don their traditional jerseys that have become one of the most famous and historic in the NFL. Since the 30’s this team has turned into the one of the most iconic in the league. They have won six Super Bowls, and their jerseys are recognized around the globe.

We have seen other throwback looks from the Steelers. Most notably the “bumblebee” looking ones from back in the Ben Roethlisberger days. They were met with mixed reviews, but the throwbacks the that the Steelers wore in 1994 might have been even worse. Those were much more similar to the ones that will be worn this year, but bigger, bulkier and quite frankly not as stylish.

That jersey had the team logo on the chest plate and the jersey number on the top right shoulder. These new, updated versions of the throwbacks abide by the current league rules which state that the numbers have to be printed on the front and the back of the jersey in big, blocky letters.
