Tonight's odds
The Lions return to Detroit as a 7 point favorite over the Raiders and the Over/Under is set at 46.
I have to think the Lions are going to come out hot and heavy after their loss last week. I think they jump on the Raiders early and don't let up.
Lions 34-12.
Jacobs yet to take off
The Raiders offense has been dreadful this season, and you have to think it’s going to cost Josh Jacobs money in the free agent market this spring. Jacobs was looking for a long term deal after leading the NFL in rushing last year, but the Raiders inefficiency on the offensive end means that defenses can stack the box, and keep Jacobs accounted for. Jacobs is averaging less than three yards a carry and has just two TDs after seven weeks. It’s not going to get much easier tonight, as the Lions D looks to lock down the Raiders following the blowout in Baltimore.

Did they need it?
Dan Campbell is not you average coach. Win or lose, good mood or bad mood, he is going to give you a heartfelt, honest post game interview and that’s exactly what he did after the Lions loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He was visibly frustrated after the blowout, but admitted that it might just be what the Lions needed to realize that they still have a long way to go before they are an elite team. Whether or not he actually feels that way, we may never know, but we will see how the Lions respond after a loss that has many questioning if the Lions are for real.

Montgomery ruled out
Lion Running back David Montgomery has been ruled out for a second straight week after suffering a rib injury in the Lions win over the Packers in Week 6. In their first game without their RB1, the Lions gained just 84 yard on the ground. That’s not to say that if Montgomery was in Baltimore, Detroit would have won the game, but he has made a big impact in his first year in the Motor City. Tonight it will be up to Jahmyr Gibbs to to the heavy lifting in the backfield tonight.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Hutchinshark!
The Lions will be itching to get this game started tonight after getting their butts handed to them in Baltimore last week. The defense will have a statement to make against one of the worse offenses in the league, and this man will want to make his mark on the game. Before last week, the Lions had a top defensive unit, and a lot of that can be attributed to the fantastic start of their second year edge rusher.

Garoppolo returns to primetime
Jimmy G will be back under center for the Raiders tonight. It’s been far from a smooth start for Garoppolo in his first year in Las Vegas. He was brought into Josh McDaniels’ system after the Raiders parted ways with Derek Carr in the middle of last season. McDaniels was the offensive coordinator in New England for a long time, which means he is used to having QBs like Tom Brady (and Jimmy G back in his New England days) that drop back in the pocket and stay in the pocket. So far that formula hasn’t quite worked for Jimmy who had 7 TDs and 8 INTs and is averaging just over 200 yards a game. He is coming off of a back injury he suffered against the Patriots but is fit for action tonight.

Raiders last week
With Jimmy Garoppolo sidelined for a second time this season, it was Brian Hoyer who stepped in under center against the Bears. Hoyer wasn’t great, throwing for just 129 yard and two INTs before getting benched for Aidan O’Connell, but it was the defense that was lit up against an undrafted rookie QB making his NFL debut. Tyson Bagent threw for 162 yards and a TD and the Bears came up with three picks to end the Raiders two game win streak and sink them back under .500.

Lions last week
Neither the Lions, nor their fans will be interested in recapping last week’s loss to the Ravens so if you are in Detroit, and following our live coverage, close your eyes. It was the Detroit D that had them tied with the Eagles for the top record in the NFC going into Week 7, but they were gutted by Lamar Jackson who threw for 357 yards and 3 TDs. Baltimore was up 28-0 going into halftime, and the Lions offense got shut down just a week after Jared Goff had his guys looking like the team that ended last season. Detroit ended up losing 38-6 and now have to shake that loss off and try to get back in the win column tonight.

We are live from Ford Field
Hello everyone and welcome to Detroit where the Lions return home with their tails between their legs after getting embarrassed by the Baltimore Ravens last week. The Lions looked like one of the best teams in the league after the first seven weeks of the season, but they were served a big slice of humility by Baltimore, and you would think tonight would be a perfect night to rebound against the Raiders. Las Vegas has a chance to get back to .500 despite what has been an ugly first half of the season. They are coming off of a blowout loss to the Bears last week, and come into Detroit looking for their first quality win of the season.
