Ravens 33 - 19 49ers summary, stats, scores and highlights | NFL Week 16
Many thought there was a three horse race for the MVP on the field in San Fran, but Lamar Jackson came out of Monday Night as the favorite after throwing for 252 yards and 2 TDs, running for another 45 and giving the defensive line fits all night with his ability to escape the pocket. This TD pass to Zay Flowers sealed the deal as Flowers ended the night with 9 catches and 72 yards.
On the play after the Agholor TD, it was Patrick Queen who forced Purdy's fourth pick of the night and that would set up a TD pass on the next play of the game.
After a late first half field goal from Justin Tucker, Baltimore got into the endzone with a quick strike drive thanks to a big catch and run from Gus Edwards and this TD pass from Jackson to Nelson Agholor.
McCaffery led the Niners on a drive in which he had 62 of the 65 yards before getting into the endzone and closing the lead to just 1 in the final minutes of the half.
Purdy's third pick of the night came off of another deflection as Kyled Hamilton got his second of the night, and for as ugly as it was for the Niners, they were still in the game going into the final minutes of the first half.
A few plays after the pick from Humphries it was Gus Edwards who got into the endzone with a one yard run.
Purdy was picked for a second time, this time by Marlon Humphrey and you could see the wheels starting to fall off from Purdy and the Niners. It's hard to blame all four of his picks soley on the second year man from Iowa State, but that's how it will show up in the stat sheet.
Despite the early pick, it was the Niners who got on the board first after one of the wildest safeties you'll every see. Lamar Jackson was backed up into his own endzone, and as he turned tripped over the ref which brought about an intentional grounding call in the endzone.
The Niners start the game off easing down the field with a couple of big receptions form George Kittle, but Brock Purdy was picked in the end zone on San Fran's first drive of the night. That would be a sign of things to come for Purdy and the 49ers.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM LEVI'S STADIUM!!!
The Niners won the toss and will kick to start the game which means the Ravens will being the night from the 30 after a decent return from Wallace .
Tonight's odds
The Niners are coming into tonight as the heavy favorites in this battle of the conference heavyweights. They are favored to win by 6.5 with the Over/Under set at 47.5.
I'm going to take a chance here, but I think the Ravens will have one eye on their all or nothing game against the Dolphins next week. They will put up a fight for a while, but I don't think there is any team that can beat a healthy Niners group in Levi's Stadium.
Niners win 24-13.
NFL Standings
Taking a look at the NFL Standings we see both of these teams at the top of their respective conferences. The Niners have won their division and if they win out they will win the conference and get home field and the first round BYE. The Ravens still have tonight's game and next week's game against the Dolphins, so there is a lot at stake over the next few weeks, but with the Chiefs and the Jags falling off, it's looking like the one seed is going to come down to their game against Miami next week.
Run MVP?
While the MVP talk is revolving around the two quarterbacks in tonight’s game, Christian McCaffery has at least one vote on his side. Brock Purdy has been quoted as saying he would vote for his running back who tied a long standing NFC record of consecutive TDs scored, and he is second in the league in total TDs with 20, trailing only Raheem Mostert of the Miami Dolphins. He’s got 1,800 total yards and has had two games in which he has scored three TDs. He is the most dangerous player in the league, and has a chance to be the first non QB to win the MVP since Adrian Peterson in 2012.
MVP on the line tonight?
We have a battle of MVP candidates tonight from Levi Stadium as Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy face-off in a game that could determine who walks away with the award come the end of the season. Lamar already knows what it takes to win the MVP after winning it back in 2019. That year he had over 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing. He is 18 yards away from breaking his single season passing record, and still could get over 1,000 yards rushing considering he’s coming into tonight with 741 yards on the ground. Tonight both Lamar and Purdy know they can take a big step towards winning the award with a big performance under the lights at Levi.
Niners last game
The Niners scored more than 27 points for the sixth straight game against the Cardinals as they kept their winning streak alive in Arizona. The Cardinals scored the first TD of the game, but the Niners took a 21-13 lead into the third quarter and in the final 30 minutes they ran away with the game thanks to Christian McCaffery’s hat trick of of touchdowns, and Brock Purdy’s 4 TD passes.
Ravens last week
The Ravens met up with a struggling Jaguars team last week in Jacksonville and handled them with ease. Lamar Jackson threw a late second quarter TD pass to take a 10-0 lead before halftime. Trevor Lawrence had one play to draw the Jags within a field goal, but the Ravens defense kept the Jags out of the red zone all day as a Gus Edwards TD and two Justin Tucker field goals spurred Baltimore to their fourth straight win to keep them on the top of the AFC table.
We are live from Levi's
Hello everyone and welcome to the Bay Area where the Niners come into tonight as the top team in their conference after a three game midseason slide. They have rattled off six straight wins after hitting a bumpy patch a month and a half ago, and now are the favorites to have home field in the playoffs, especially if they beat the Ravens tonight. The Ravens have been flying under the radar pretty much all season, but they have also been the most consistent team in the NFL. They have won four straight since their two point loss to the Browns, and if they win out they will have home field in the AFC, and get a first round BYE. Needless to say, there is a lot on the line for both teams tonight.
Ravens vs. Niners
It’s the game of the year and a potential Super Bowl preview from San Francisco tonight. The NFL has gifted us a massive matchup between the top team in the AFC and the NFC to wrap up the Christmas weekend as the San Francisco 49ers host the Baltimore Ravens and AS English will be with you all night providing live coverage, stats, scores and highlights from Levi Stadium.
